A nice old diner. May have been better years ago, but you could tell it is a favorite of the locals. Food okay, omelette was a... bit greasy. Home fries were good. Average breakfasr diner. Read more

My husband and I love this place. We recommend it to everyone we know as well as complete strangers. The owner is in the kitchen... with her husband and chef day in and day out cooking up every last meal that is ordered. We have never had bad service we havenever had a below average meal in the 25 years we have been going to Gus Balon's. The owners have two children in which theyhave shared pictures of as if to incorporate all their customers as one big family. If you have never had the pleasure ofdining here I can tell you this...... You are missing out! Holiday fresh baked pies are also available. The owner baked a widevariety for her customers so we don't have too! Lol???? Read more

Had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. It was glorious! The gravy really hit the spot and felt like home (I'm from Georgia)! My... buddy had the French toast and told me that it was the best he's had ever! Let's get into the hashbrowns. These things wereperfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. They gave me the option of putting the gravy from the Chicken Fried Steak on it andlet me tell you, best decision ever that day. The prices were surprisingly good and the service was outstanding. I'd give 10stars if it let me! Read up on the history from the menu and I hope this place stays around for a long time and more peoplecome and taste this Tucson staple! Veteran owned, Veteran supported. My kinda place from the start! Read more

Great diner. This is a must place to try when in Tucson. My waitress Amanda was great, very friendly, knowledgeable about the... menu, and the place it's self. I was lucky enough to show up on rice pudding day. As I was told by Amanda, it only happensoccasionally. The proprietor was present and working like any one else on staff. I always like to see that at a restaurant. Iwish I could have got back for another meal,as the menu was very abundant with options. Next year upon my yearly visit, thiswill be on the agenda for meals. Read more

It has been year's and Gus' is even better than I remember. The cinnamon rolls are huge and fantastic. However even better us... the country ham. It is much larger than either Waffle House or Cracker Barrel. The veterans discount much appreciated. Read more
