Husband brought me here for my birthday dinner because he knows El Chico's is my favorite place. I love their food. I had 2... steak fajita soft tacos, rice and frijoles. Also added a cheese and onion enchilada with chili sauce. My husband had steakfajitas. Food was awesome as always. For dessert I had a brownie sundae. Brownie was ok. I've had better. Ice cream was good. Myhusband had sopapilas with honey. I gave 4 stars for food because the brownie was just ok. Gave 4 stars for the service becausewe had to remind the server my husband ordered sopapilas. He was really trying though. He was new. And for service another tablewho had 6 people did not get through order taken until a couple minutes before we got our food. They had arrived what seemed tobe several minutes before we did. They were already seated and had their chips and salsa. All in all was still good over all andI love El Chicos. I had a long Island ice tea and my husband had Titos Lemonade. Both good drinks. The food was very bland, not much flavor or spices were in any entries. The fajitas were not sizzling at all and the chicken,... steak and vegetables had no flavor. The burrito bowl had no flavor along with the quesadillas. The queso was nothing more thanmelted cheddar cheese in a small bowl. This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had and will never return to an ElChicorestaurant ever again. The price for this bland food was way too expensive for what was served. Taco Bell food has much moreflavor at a much lower price. Never again! Read more

The food was good and the service was okay but the restaurant was not as clean as it could be. The employees didn?t seem very... happy but they did check on us and keep our needs met. It just seemed like they needed a moral boost. Read more

Meh food. Not authentic. Good chips and salsa. Tortilla soup had previously frozen grilled chicken strips and soup tasted like... tomato soup. Others in my party enjoyed their good. Read more

The wife and had lunch at El Chico Cafe and the food wasn't any good at all. The service was excellent, otherwise I would have... rated only one star. I ordered enchiladas and the plate was so bland looking but tasted decent. I asked for some shreddedlettuce and fresh cut onions and that made it better. The beans are good, the rice seems old and too dry. My wife ordered steakfajitas and the meat was overcooked, seemed old and had a very strange texture and taste. It probably was reheated. There wasmostly over cooked soggy onions and the few pieces of peppers were the same. It takes 10 minutes to soften onions that much andshe came back so fast with the food it's obvious it wasn't cooked fresh. We told the waitress my wife's meal was unacceptableand without question she promptly removed it from the bill and like I said, that's why I'm eating this place 3 stars. Thosefajitas were absolutely terrible! Read more
