Wow! This is one of those hidden gems in the most unsuspecting place at an airport. I had the Liver and Onions, Blackeyed... Peas, Yams and fried Potato?s. Fantastic soul food that is unmatched in Tulsa! I can go on and on about how amazing the people and food are but you have to... stop by and try it for yourself. Why would the best soul food restaurant be located off an abandoned hangar on the west side of the airport? Just because. Not... technically inside the terminal so you'd have to take a cab or uber to get to it. I'd argue that if Tulsa was a bland city withnothing going on, eating at this place alone makes the trip worthwhile. Yes I'd fly in just to eat here and then fly back towherever I came from but luckily Tulsa is worth exploring too. I ordered the liver and onions platter with side collards andpotatoes and onions, they even threw in a loaf. It felt like a homemade meal and was so tasty that I wiped the plate clean. I drove over 950 miles to return to this restaurant. Sure, I had business in town, but still...;) I fell in love when I first... visited in 2018, and looked forward to returning. I wish I could have stayed long enough to experience their entire menu. Thisis good food prepared and served by good people in one of my favorite locations... an airport. Doesn't get much better thanthat. (P.S I hope one of the people there read this review. I promised them I'd leave it... and I want them to know I kept mypromise. They deserve it!) Read more
This is my first time at Evelyn?s and oh my goodness they?re amazing!! I had the fried catfish with corn and macaroni and... cheese. Boy that food had so much flavor! My date had the friend chicken with smothered cabbage and macaroni and cheese. Eachmeal came with a bread choice, cornbread or a roll. Both were tasty! We also had sweet tea and unsweetened tea. best fried catfish in tulsa. my wife is from the south and claims this is the only catfish and chicken that reminds her of her... childhood farm life. we go here for the soul food. nothing is even close. greens are fantastic catfish is incredible chicken isdelicious yams are like candy. definitely check it out if you're on the fence. this place beats white river any day of the weekwith its eyes closed.
