Disappointed, order to pick up dinner. Paid extra a "micro size" side of sour cream sauce, over a dollar, barely a heaping... tablespoon and NO CHIPS! Unbelievable! Very disappointed order steak quesadilla 12 or 13.00 is just a regular size tortilla with little bit of cheese little bit steak,... because the price I thought will b too much for me but no is too small for the price and queso con chile overpriced is yellowcheese and almost no chili first and last time here. Down the road a bit, but access is everything. This place is reminiscent of my days in south Texas. Real Tex-Mex, with a few... curves along the way. First, they get five stars for price point. At this location, they have to be competitive, and they are.Prices for everything are good, and in some cases, great. You decide. I'm not giving away all my secrets. They have greatdrinks at good prices. Food is generous and delicious. Waitstaff is also five star. They have always catered to my personalpreferences in seating arrangements, and I am grateful. Always ontime without being intrusive. That folks, is the hallmark, andbenchmark, of fine waitstaff, and cannot (really) be taught. It is just intuitive. Is it a hole-in-the-wall type of place? I usually only order at the S. Sheridan location, unfortunately today I placed my order through GrubHub. BIGGEST MISTAKE... YET!!!! My order was placed at this location, and while the portion size was great, the steak was EXTREMELY overcooked. When Itried to cut it my knife broke, I then tried to take a bite out of it my teeth almost broke. I even tried to pull it apart withmy hands and to no avail. Alas, I have a meal that is not edible and it is incredibly disappointing. Stay at the originallocation on Sheridan. Because they know how to cook steak! And perfectly. Anytime I've ordered this meal I have literally onlyhad to use my fork to cut it and my forks don't break while I'm cutting it so take my advice as a foodie, because I eat greatfood. Do not eat steak from here at least don't order it out unless you're there to try to take a bite. Seriously!!!!!! This was my time at Monterey's. The food was okay, but I thought it was really expensive. We probably won't be going back. The... salsa was pretty good. They have a queso bowl that they say they are famous for and it was $8.99 and hardly any queso. Read more
