We came in to celebrate our 11 year wedding anniversary and I have to say, it was amazing. The chef special was wonderful and... each plate brought a new experience. From the oyster and lobster dumplings to the variety of meats and drinks, we enjoyed everytasty minute and would definitely come again. Read more

Went to Mr. Kim’s in downtown last night. I’d like to say they really nailed the concept. I heard they were a little low on... staffing, so I will attribute that to the slower food-to-table times we experienced. They were just slower than average, servicewas impeccable beyond that.\nIt was my birthday, so my husband and I got the Baller Omakase (chef’s tasting menu) and it camewith 4 appetizer bites. Ours were, an oyster, yellowtail sashimi atop an apple slaw, lobster shumai, and steak tartare. Theywere all wonderfully built, flavors at every level. I’d have to say the steak tartare was one I wouldn’t have orderedmyself, yet it was the best app! We also had ordered wagyu dumplings for the table. It comes with a ponzu sauce and all thewonderful crispy pan drippings that attach to potstickers. So good.\nFrom there we were introduced to our banchan, these are thesides that are used to enhance your meal. Daikon radish, cucumber kimchi, regular kimchi, some really fun coleslaw I don’tremember the specifics but it was amazing, sesame oil, potato salad, lettuce wraps, and house made ssamjang sauce.\nThey arebottomless and I’m thankful for that because we got lost in the sauce and ate them individually as well lol!\n\nSo aside fromour tasting menu, we also ordered a side of kimchi fried rice (10/10, hands down) and a side of corn cheese (10/10 as well). Myfriend ordered prime strip and bacon as his main course and he said he really enjoyed it!\n\nThe chef’s tasting menu includedcod, pork bulgolgi, short rib, 3 cuts of traditional steak, and 2 types of wagyu steak. They cook the wagyu for you.\n\nAllmeats were incredible, especially when dipped in the truffle oil sauce. That’s an add on I suggest getting!\n\nWe also had the“lost coz” drink (probably a few too many, it was delicious) and they serve water at the table, and have bottled coke.\nTheygave us a complementary lemongrass sorbet which was also a rollercoaster of flavor.\n\nThe setting was very intimate. What a great dining experience. My wife and I had the House tasting and it was exquisite. My wife is pregnant and the server and... chefs were able to accommodate a few non raw dishes for her to have which was greatly appreciated. The atmosphere and servicewas great. We will be back for sure in the future. Thank you again for a great evening. Read more

Fun experience, but pricey. We did the house tasting menu because we had never been and wanted to try an assortment of meats. ... Everything we had was delicious, but I was a little disappointed that veggies and rice weren\'t included given how much we werealready paying. The lackluster salad really could be replaced with a better side dish since lettuce is already provided forwraps. And $10 for a small plate of bland broccolini was definitely a waste of money, so we won\'t bother with it again if wereturn. Overall, it was a nice experience for a special occasion, but too expensive to be a regular date night kind of place, especially since the portions are pretty small. Read more

Such an exciting restaurant with fantastic food!\nThe atmosphere upon walking in is nice, dark, and serene with background music... playing. Wall decor is varied and interesting. The bar is a cool oval bar with just enough light to see menu and food/drink.\nWesat at the bar because it was the only time available for a reservation. We started with Lost Coz and Carcosa for drinks - tastyand not too sweet with just the right amount of alcohol. Lost Coz is a frozen vodka drink that is tasty and yummy. Carcosa is atequila and mescal drink with pineapple. Both were equally good.\nWe knew sitting at the bar meant no grill option and that wasokay. There is a small menu to choose from but make no mistake, it is packed full of great options!. We had the chili crab, wagyu dumplings, hamachi, black cod, and fried chicken (wings). Chili crab and dumplings were standouts. The flavors popped andgave my taste buds an exciting amusement ride.\nCannot wait to return and try the grill.\nThis restaurant should win awards andbe nationally recognized. It could easily hold its own against the NYC restaurant scene.\nBravo!!! Read more

Edit: restaurant leadership reached out promptly to explore our experience and continued to follow-up. A gift card was offered... to us so we’d have the chance to dine again. Rating increased to 4 based upon the response of leadership.\n\nDinner04/21/22\nJust ok. Wouldn’t recommend. Wouldn’t go back unless someone else was paying the bill.\n\nDrinks: wine menu isokay, only a few $50-$75 bottles with everything else $100+. This pricing point model discourages trying new wines.\nWe foundone we liked, but only because we weren’t there for the wines. Limited beer choices were expected because we previewed themenu in advance, but surprising considering the parent restaurant group.\nOnly specialty gin drink on the menu was for 4-6people, while we planned for indulgence it wasn’t on cocktails.\n\nBaller Tasting Menu: not so baller for the price point.Lackluster was the word we kept coming back to, it was just……… missing something at every turn. And please, just stop withthe salad. Made me feel like I was stopping by the Golden Corral with granny’s bad dressing on the menu.\nPrice pointdoesn’t match offering. Will say the continued use of caviar was appreciated.\n\nIf you go I’d consider ordering ala carte, the tasting menu will leave you wanting. Especially as no vegetables are offered. No peppers available tonight, we were in lovewith the mushrooms.\n\nService: kinda strange. Our sever hovered a bit and was questioning of our ability to cook our own food. While we understand the staff cooking our wagyu it was interesting that another server commented on our cooking abilities lateron… this random sever acknowledged they would have jumped in if we didn’t look like we knew what we were doing, it was superstrange. Biggest issue: the long curly black hair in our lettuce, obviously not my straight blond hair or my guests short blackhair, not being an issue. While refreshed no apologies were extended, even verbally. Maybe it was because it was the 5pmseating but eithe Read more

Summary: 10/10 – would absolutely recommend. This was by far the best eating experience either of us have had. The food was... excellent, the service was top-notch, the overall energy was fantastic. This made for a great date night but would also beperfect for a group of friends sharing a meal family style. Be sure to make reservations early either way. On Monday we made arereservation for two people for Saturday and had to go around 9pm because they were already booked at other times.\n\nAtmosphere:It was borderline too dark but lit well enough that you could see where you were going and read the menu. The dining area issmall, hence the need for reservations. The bar is a small horseshoe shape that sits about 12-15 tightly. Comfortable seating, nice tables w/ a grill in the middle of each, shiny gold colored eating utensils.\n\nService: This was where our experiencereally shined, in my opinion. Everything else was great, but our servers really took the experience to the next level with theirattention to detail, care, and charisma. Thez (sp?) was very energetic but not overbearing in any way. He was extremely friendlyand super helpful. He had us cracking up all night. He explained everything in detail and even offered suggestions on how he’drecommend enjoying the food. We had another server that helped with various things such as cooking the food for us, Jose. He wasalso a great conversationalist and had some great perspectives and stories to share. Both were attentive, friendly, and nevermade us feel like we were inconveniencing them in any way. Throughout the night, Elliot, the founder/CEO of the McNellie’sGroup, stopped and chatted us up as well. He was also very friendly and answered all our questions. I’m sure he was superbusy, but he never gave the impression that he didn’t have time for us.\n\nFood/Drinks: We tried several drinks, all of themwere pretty good! My wife loved the Siren’s Song, especially the presentation in the glass in came in. I had Read more
