Anniversary dinner at the Tumalo Feed Company last night. We had heard great things about it. The good part was we arrived at... 5:30pm and were seated right away. The restaurant (Western decor) is interesting with history and artifacts (being built in1967). We were waited on in a timely manner. Our drinks (lemon drop martinis) arrived and were good size and tasty. The busperson was personable and fun. He brought a box for my unfinished dinner and he cleared our plates soon after we finishedeating. The mediocre part was the wait person (Daniel) had limited personality, did not respond when I told him it was ouranniversary, told us the special but did not recommend a starter, sides, bread or dessert. Dinner arrived (shrimp scampi andribeye steak) and was lacking in taste and appearance (plain plates with no garnish, no offering of steak sauce or extras). Iput 2 rounds of salt and pepper on my scampi, rice and vegetables to create some flavor. We ate dinner. No one checked to see ifdinner was cooked correctly or how it tasted. No one offered water or another drink. When we finished, Daniel said, "is thereanything else?" We said "no" and he put a receipt on the table (no receipt holder or tray). I've only visited this establishment 3 times, and its right up my alley. No frills steak house, down to earth, and extremely... tasty food. Well staffed, and friendly atmosphere. Food is pricey but its high quality steaks, and I get it wrapped in baconwhich is my dream come true. Read more
I AM STILL DREAMING OF THIS STEAK! This is such an amazing little establishment that?s relaxed yet classy at the same time. We... had a server who I think is Daniel, but if I got the name wrong, I?m sorry! He had worked in the kitchen for some times beforeserving and he knew the food and drinks like the back of his hand. He made the best recommendations and gave us the bestservice. He recommended the prime rib cooked rare and let me tell you.. it was the best steak I think I?ve ever had. We also gotthe calamari and steamed clams - the calamari is so tender, unlike the normal chewy pieces I usually get at otherrestaurants. We love it here! One of us always gets the stuffed cod (because it's incredible!!) And the other picks something else on the... menu, and we share! The service is always wonderful and accommodating. Everything we've had here has been full of flavor andpresented beautifully! We always bring friends or family from out of town here because we have never been disappointed and it'ssuch a gem in Central Oregon, nothing else like it! We had a wonderful experience having a birthday dinner here. The steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare as requested. Drinks... were poured very generously and are priced even better. Came here for a family birthday a little bit ago and the food was awful. Terrible appetizers no presentation. Two of us asked... for a medium rare steak and it came out well done with no flavor and it was a cheap cut of meat. For the prices you pay hereyou're getting completely ripped off. I could have made a better steak at home and I'm pretty sure Outback is better than thisplace. Read more
