The food here is unbelievable the taste makes my mouth water as I?m typing this or maybe it?s because I?m hungry???? I don?t... know if the food is really Halal but it sure tastes Halal. The staff is extraordinary and they all should get a raise from thecashier to the chef. These individuals ARE worth their weight in gold! I have been going to Halal Guys for literally years. It WAS one of my favorite lunch places. I always order the combo platter... with extra meat. This last year we go to the Tustin, CA location as it is near my office. The last few times (maybe over amonth or so time period) the office has ordered from there, the food is different and tastes spoiled. Literally smells andtastes off. We were told one time it was the lemon they used to clean the grill, and since we ordered early we thought it mightbe the reason. They remade our orders and it still was off but we didn't send it back another time. It isn't just my platter,it is everyone that orders. Especially the chicken, the gyro seems to not be as 'sour' tasting or smelling. Even the veggiessmell off, but that might just be from being in the same container? Today, I ordered again and it was the same issue. But thistime the order was place around 2pm. Grubhub is refunding me the cost but I am completely disgusted with the place now. Food was good sort of. Have not eaten that kind of food before so it was different I liked it but it was just different. My... friend that was with me said they were actually a bit mediocre when it came to their food though. However I thought it was okaylady that was working behind the counter not very friendly and you couldn't really understand what she was saying. And somethingtotally UPS off topic we got there and tried to park and it was busy on the weekend and we couldn't Park in the spot that wewanted to park in because somebody had gotten sick and the spot that we were pulling into so eww. Other than that I thought itwas a little pricey for what you were getting. I have been ordering from halal guys for past 8 months. I have ordered falafel palter 8-9 times till now. And from past 3 orders... quality is just worst. Today i ordered a falafel bowl normal size (not small). Also added other paid toppings but my bowl sizewas less than half filled and added toppings were like 1 tablespoon. Also, falafel was very hard and dry (seems like few daysold). For sure this is the last time ordering anything from here. PS: Initially when i ordered 5-6 months back, the foodquality was great and i was happy. That's the reason i kept coming back to this. But not anymore 100%. Since the lines in NYC are so long, I thought I'd try eating at one of their SoCal locations to see what the fuss is all about. ... The food is definitely good, but I feel it could be hit or miss. There's flavour, but the texture in the chicken was a touchdry and honestly, while nice, I've now tried it and I haven't had a "craving" for it again since. If you're a big meat eater,this is your paradise, for sure. The service in this Tustin location was good, and the restaurant was clean and staff werefriendly. It definitely filled the spot when looking for a nice, warm, non offensive meal, and again, something I think you'vegot to try once, to see what all of the popularity is about. Read more
The food is disgusting. I got a small chicken/beef plate and it was extremely dry. The white sauce tasted like a mix of sour... cream and something else. The hummus and pita chips had no flavor. The cheesecake had undercooked phyllo dough. Definitely my1st and last time trying Halal Guys Read more
Just picked up to go order for 5 people and the food tasted old. Nothing in the platter seemed fresh. Had to go get food from... another place as we were not able to eat it. Don?t expect this from this guys. Read more
