AMAZING!!! First time there. Decided to dine in. It was about 12:30pm on a Wednesday. Very busy. Only one table open. They bused... it right away and our food came quickly. This is my second trip to this restaurant. The first time, I was too worried to actually go in and eat. Which was a big mistake... on my part! The first time I went to have dinner here, I was brand new to Tyler, and was looking for sushi close by. GoFish is5 minutes away. So, I jumped in my car, drove on by, and saw a big square shack that looked more like a fast food joint than anice Japanese restaurant. Glancing in the front window, I saw what looked like a deli counter. And they had a drive throughwindow! So I just noped on out of there. It just didn't seem like it'd be a good experience. I realize that was perhaps a bitprejudiced of me. So I went back for a second try today. And yes, you do order inside at a register/bar area, just like a deli.And there were only about a dozen tables to sit at. But still, I was quite impressed with the meal. The food was very fresh,and well presented. I've had suspect sushi before--when that fish starts getting a little older, it starts smelling and tastingfishier. And I am sure to get the tummy rumbles later. None of that was evident here! Everything was very clean tasting. Iordered the Crazy Tuna (spicy tuna, mango and panko inside, sliced tuna and avocado outside), the AAC (avocado, asparagus,cucumber), the Unagi roll (eel) and some fried gyoza (dumplings). The Crazy Tuna was super tasty. I find mango in sushi can bevery hit or miss, but this was just the right amount of sweet--it wasn't overpowering or cloying. The asparagus in the AAC rollwas the tender part of the tip, and wasn't woody. It still had a touch of bite, so it wasn't mushy either. The Unagi roll wassweet and succulent--though the sauce was perhaps a tad sweeter than I'm accustomed to. The gyoza was crisp, hot, anddelicious. The sushi rice was well-seasoned with just the right amount of vinegar, and the gyoza sauce had that touch of gingerI'm looking for when having dumplings. I'm glad I gave this place a second look. This is our favorite sushi place. My favorite is the "sexy beach". Everything we have ordered, we have liked. Sushi is fresh,... tasty, and the portions are big. The staff are friendly and courteous. There is an overabundance of options to chose from. Themenu has so many choices it makes it hard to pick, and nothing you order will be bad. Miso soup is free while waiting for yourfood. There is limited seating available which makes it difficult to find a table during peak hours. There are 6 tables thatseat 4, and there are 4 tables that seat two. What a great find! Tons of options and delicious. If you are looking for a good sushi joint locally or just driving by, give... this one a try. The cashier was very informative and explained the huge menu to us. They have cooked vs raw sushi separated onthe menu which I was thankful for since I?m 8 months pregnant and choose to not eat raw at this time. So good! Read more
A must-eat in Tyler! We recently moved to the area and were in search of good sushi. The counter service was quick and friendly... with complimentary miso soup, and the sushi/rolls were delicious. As a pregnant person I really appreciate the extensive cookedroll menu as well. Read more
