If you?ve never had ?New Haven? style pizza, remove the idea of ?Neopolitana? style pizza from your expectations. New haven... style is like a hard burnt cracker crust, not Neopolitana. Our waitress Emily F., asked us if we were ok with the typical NewHaven ?well done? crust. We had no idea what we were going to get, when we said yes. The ingredients tasted fresh althoughsparse, except for the basil, which was ample. Now we know. It was a new experience for us. The three stars is directly aimed atEmily. We arrived and the restaurant was busy, but there wasn?t a line and there were many empty tables. They squeezed us intothe mix of other full tables and Emily came promptly and took our order, and then brought us water. About 10 min later our pizzaarrived and Emily came to check on us immediately after. Then, she never came back to our table. We ate our pizza and waitedpatiently for Emily to realize we were done. We watched Emily check on every other table in our section, that was almostliterally within an arms reach to our table, but never once did she turn her attention to us. After about 10-15 min, we began tostare at her to see if she would notice, but we also waited for another server or employee to pass by our table so that we couldget our check. Excellent service and fantastic food. First time here and we absolutely loved the pizza!! The man who brought our menus and... drinks (very tall and perhaps was the manager?) was super friendly and helpful, as we had questions never dining here before. Wegot a medium size pizza and it was huge!! Days later and my boyfriend is still raving about how good this pizza was. We so wishwe had one of these restaurants closer to us!! Frank Pepe?s Pizzeria is a great spot to grab a bite to eat while at Mohegan Sun. It can get a little busy, so be prepared to... wait to get a table. They do offer takeout though. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. They do cook their pizza a specialway, which some people may not like, but the wait staff does inform you of this prior to ordering a pizza to ensure you will beable to enjoy it. And the pizza was delicious! They have plenty of options and they can all be customized. At the end of themeal, they know you may not be able to keep your leftovers with you, so they offer to keep your leftovers at the restaurant andyou can pick them up later that day. Pepe's at Mohegan Sun was busy on an early Sunday afternoon. The wait in line was about 25 minutes and moved well. Service was... very friendly... but it did take over 30 minutes to get a small white clam pizza after the order was taken. Foxon Park soda isserved with tall glasses filled with ice. This is a nice touch. White clam pizza looked appealing and tasted pretty good. Youcan definitely taste the clams, garlic and cheese. All 3 tastes complement each other. Only downside to this pizza was thechar... it was uneven across the whole pizza. One side had a nice char to it... while the other side had almost none at all andwas soft. ?Did they forget to turn it? Location is clean and nice spot to grab a pizza of you are not in a hurry. This is by far my FAVORITE pizza EVER! I can?t believe that it has taken me this long to give a review! The problem is that... every time I get my food I forget about everything!! This pizza is delicious just as is! Regular tomato pie with cheese. Fromthe sauce, to the dough and how crunchy it is?. It?s heaven on a slice! I was excited to eat at Frank?s Pepe. After playing at the casino ???? I got so hungry, I was looking forward to eat a cheese... pizza. The service was great our waiter was very attentive. The pizza wasn?t bad it had flavor, but not enough sauce . The pizzawas so dry, and burnt in some parts. Read more
Could?ve been awesome except the pizza was cold. When I called to place the order, the person on the phone said it?d be 30... minutes. When I showed up 20 minutes after placing the order, the pizza?s temperature was obviously not fresh out of the oven.It felt like it was ready 10 minutes earlier. The taste was great but crust ended up soggy due to it sitting there andtemperature was just barely warm once I got it back to my room.
