We have been meaning to try Chat bar for a while now and finally made it there tonight. The restaurant does not take... reservations so we came on a weeknight to avoid a long weekend wait. The restaurant was busy but we were able to get seatedright away. Also note they only accept cash or Canadian debit. It's definitely a nice experience, from the music to thefriendly staff and even the cutlery and dishes were noticeable :) We had the eggplant (highly recommend!), king oystermushrooms, beef skewers, scallops, and kimchi fried rice. This was a good amount of food for 2 people. Each dish was flavourfuland presented beautifully. My faves were the eggplant, beef skewers and kimchi fried rice. Actual Review On Food From Best To Worst - Sausage was the best,sweet, salty and deciduous - Beef was seasoned very well but it was half meat half cartilage/tendons/fat - Chicken Wings w/Honey, great flavor, good amount of meat - Lamb, not as well seasoned as the beef however it was more meaty which I liked -Cucumbers, tasted great and a refreshing break from the ungodly amount of meat - Chicken, not seasoned well however I like itbecause it was all meat with no fat. I'm bulking ???? - Scallops, this was one of the top dishes according to my girlfriend butwe have different taste buds so I beg to differ. Reviews are subjective, why are you still reading? ¯_(?)_/¯ - Pork Belly, donot get. The fat was not melting in my mouth, it was gross ???? - Eggplant, I don't like eggplant, it was for my girlfriend andshe liked it Overall, great experience and the server really made my day. First time coming to this location, although the patio may be small, I'm a big guy and I sat surprisingly comfortably. Food was... great and the waitress named Jamie served us and the service was amazing too. As a meat person, this is THE place to go for lambskewers and other skewer dishes as well. The restaurant is kinda small and they don't take reservations so it's first come first serve. It's a great, lively place for... super late night eats. Service was quick, didn't have to wait long for food to arrive. Food was good, all their skewers seem tohave the same seasoning but still tasty nonetheless. Some notable dishes/skewers worth mentioning are the Lamb Skewers, PorkBelly Skewers and Cheese Corn. Read more
I love coming here for lamb and beef skewers for the past 4-5 years. I recommend it to anyone new to Markham. I would also... suggest the grilled red sausage and cheese corn! The servers are super nice especially Jessica and you make sure your order isserved within 10 minutes of ordering. The atmosphere is also nice and cozy. Read more
I love their egg plant and veggie skewers. The service is quick and efficient. This is a perfect place for a summer night out.... The only downside is that it the menu will be can be foreign to some and the employees won?t have time to explain every dish toyou so make sure to do a little research or bring a friend who?s familiar. The Chinese BBQ I had tonight at Chat Bar was the greatest I've ever had. Jessica is the one who is doing the service. We're... here for the first time tonight and have no idea what to order. Jessica recommended a few dishes to us with great care. Wedecided to place an order. The cuisine was, indeed, delectable. She is a kind and courteous girl. After the food was served, shecame to ask us how the food was. The food is really great, the best Chinese BBQ we have ever eaten. Super cute vibes and really great food. The lotus roots were scrumptious, but the skewers are what they?re really known for. Do... come and try them!
