I placed a order with door dash for pick up. The order was suppose to be ready at 12:53pm. I got there at1:22 and the order... was not ready. I had to wait about 20 to 30 more minutes. They were out of corn and I substituted one out of 14 dinners forsomething else and all of my chicken dinners was incorrect. I called there and the owner could care less about customer serviceto accommodate me and I told her I had my receipt she told me too deal with door dash basically it wasn't her problem. She didnot try to meet me in the middle or anything. Another business that gets your money and oh well if something isn't right. Shame on me. October 2021: First time eating here. Ordered the perch dinner, which came with two sides and a corn muffin. I chose the candied... yams and dressing purchasing a few chicken wings as well. Pros: * Covid cautious with the dining room area not in use. Theemployees wore masks. * Good food. The chicken wings were very good as well the dressing and yams. * Multiple forms of paymentaccepted. Cash and Visa/Mastercard credit cards are accepted. * Diverse customer base (White, Black, Latino customers). It wasrefreshing to see more than Black people eating soulfood. Cons: * Parking can be a challenge in the front of the building. *The fish was seasoned well and fried properly (not too hard, but well done), but battered with flour instead of corn meal. Thetexture seemed off to me. * I guess that customers need to call ahead and make sure that certain items are available--somethings sell out quickly. Summary: I won't be back, I should have listened to the other reviews but wanted to give a place a chance. 1. No lids for the... sides so the bag was swimming in juice. 2. Greens and Mac were so salty I could not eat them 3. Mac was burned to heck on thebottom, and ofc soggy from the yam juice (I know some people like this but I don't. I asked for my sides to be packagedseparately. ) 4. Cabbage was so-so 5. Black eyed peas were good, slightly over done but still good 6. NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE. To be fair, I've been patronizing this place since it's opening. The portions used to be more than fair... for the price. Catfish dinners would come with 2 big pieces of fish, mac n cheese was delicious. So delicious I usually wouldorder double mac with my dinner. I recommended this place to family and friends. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was notthe same, they "fell off"! This ain't it sis! This mac n cheese is now trash ????. I seen others complain on reviews, now Isee what they meant. Take a look at the photos I've uploaded and compare them to the reposted and recycled pics from their IG.There is no way those are same-day photos because this mac was not the same as what was posted the day I ordered this. Thosepictures are from when the food tasted better. I never knew mac n cheese could lack enough noodles until now, like a cheesynoodle soup. I like cheese but this was all wrong, soupy, wet, with few noodles. In addition, the seasoning was off, noodlesthemselves felt overcooked. The 2 pieces of fish were not the normal big Catfish pieces I've come to know from this place for$15. The taste of the fish was fine however. One last thing to note... if u call in, be prepared to call a few times becauseit's hard to get through. Very hard, but I recommend calling in advance if you do decide to try this place. There are at least 2 locations and we went to one inside a plaza near Richmond/ Chagrin - we intended to go to a different... restaurant and found Ella's Mae's had replaced it. No menus to take with you except for the one tapped to the counter, we order2 dinners and extra sides to get a variety - mac n cheese and sweet potatoes were the favorites but the baked beans were leastfavorite.
