A great little restaurant. The food was great and service friendly. A little too crowded for me but overall worth a visit.

So hard to find good paella at a restaurant. This was americanized a bit with half a lobster tail and other American favorites... like mussels and shrimp. Nice place with friendly staff. Read more

In town on business in Utica and after eating 2 nights in the hotel restaurant decided to explore the area. Discovered Ancora... in the theater district. EXCELLENT choice in literally ever way I could think of. From the Bruschetta for the appetizer, tothe house special Mushroom Stuffed Raviola, to the oversized glass of tea, topped off with one of the best margaritas (SilverPetron of course), this was one of the best meals I've had in quite some time. And considering this is located in the theaterdistrict, the price vs value was off the charts. Highly recommend if you're in the Utica area, you seriously consider this foryour dining choice. You won't regret it!! Read more

I just asked for a standard spaghetti and meatballs and they nailed it. The meatballs were big and juicy. Spaghetti was drenched... in sauce and parm. Drinks were creative and tasty. The service seemed to be a bit spread thin but the wait wasn't too badconsidering. I would go back for sure. Great food for reasonable prices. The vibes were nice but I think they have room to makeit more lively. Read more

Excellent food and atmosphere. Paella was delicious. Definitively one of the best places for dinning in Utica area and CNY.

Visiting from out of state. A few locals recommended it to us. Made reservations same day. It's located right next door to... the Stanley theater. Sat at a high top near the bar. Greg was our server and bartender. His choices were home runs anddrinks were awesome. Had an old fashioned and wife had a spicy watermelon (something) both were great! Went with Greg's choiceof the daily special spicy creamy shrimp. Had a creamy pasta sauce with some chorizo sausage and shrimp over penne. It wasawesome! For desert we had crepes and creme brulee also recommended by Greg. They were perfect! By the time we left thefront patio was packed and no open tables outside! Great service, great food! Dinner for two, with drinks, and desert just over$100. Definitely worth going! Read more

We ate on the patio, and the bugs and flies were obnoxious! But there was great music playing in the background. The waiter was... fantastic, checking on us frequently, and making great suggestions on beer. He was entertaining, and kept us laughing. I orderedthe NY Strip Dreak, which was fantastic! It came with a big heaping serving of mashed potatoes. They were dry and flavorless, amd I wished it had come with some sort of gravy. But it was definitely worth the price! My friend had the Rack of Lamb, whichshe was very impressed with. The presentation was fantastic on that meal! She also ordered the Creme Brulee which was alsodelicious. Oh, and she ordered a side of gnocchi, which was fantastic! Read more
