Really wanted to rate this 4 or 5 stars but the lack of expected top tier service knocks the rating down. Although our table of... 4 was seated almost immediately we had to wait for menus, drink menus and water. The thing with the menu was that there wasonly 1 option for Valentines, and you could choose between the 3 or 5 course. We sat for the second sitting, but the staff keptwalking past our table even though we wanted a drinks menu, water and some bread. We asked for bread but were told no, it comeswith the meals. We waited longer to ask and order for some cocktails, but we could only order drinks after our food choiceswere selected. Bread was only offered when the 1st course was delivered, and then we only got 1 serving of bread. Food was ofhigh quality, great presentation and wonderfully cooked. I didn't get much of the Valentines theme though. The duck wassplendid, the dore (white fish) was very delicate, and the group said the salmon was perfect. I'll have to say the dessertoption was a bit strange with the combination of green vegetables, spices and chocolate. The desert was the miss from theopinion of the group. For the price, it was a good experience food wise. We did not get the wine pairing, in our opinion wastoo expensive. Lastly, there was no English menu, so be prepared to use Google Translate to figure out what you'll be eating. Read more

This is the pearl of restaurants in the Laurentians. I have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times. Never been... disappointed at this restaurant! The service is one of the most professional and efficient in my experience. This is good foodthat responds to my prime categories: Looks great on the plate, smells great and the taste ... heavenly. There are dailyspecials for lunch which are quite affordable, you can choose to have a soup or salad with a main dish, or include the desertfor just a few more dollars. It would be a good idea to call and reserve a table. In the summer, they have ample space on thethree-level terrace outside. In the winter it is a small intimate, pleasantly decorated place. The bread rolls arrive at yourtable warm, they are home-made. In fact everything is done by the chef in this place, and there are some surprises, complimentsof the Chef. An outstanding professionally run establishment in Val David. Gastronomical delights for all tastes. Superbly presented and... perfectly seasoned. Very accommodating in terms of food substitutions and reservation time. Traffic made us late for our reservation. Apéritif was... yummy. Most table seatings were outdoor, so be prepared for mosquitoes. Every dish in the tasting menu was brilliant. Great wayto start of a weekend getaway! Will definitely be back and hopefully will be able to get the Kouign Amann. Read more
