I ordered a fat mermaid burger but got regular bacon instead of Canadian bacon. It wasn't the greatest wasn't the best. It was... way way way to greasy for a $24 burger. Lettuce was fresh which I much appreciated. The pepperoni I didn't even taste it withhow the burger was seasoned. To me it did nothing for it. The salmon and rockfish were prepared perfectly and were delicious. Great views of the harbor!!
This is an amazing restaurant at the Valdez shore. The food tastes great. The fries are absolutely crispy. The cheese steak is... one of the best I have ever had. The rockfish sandwhich was very very good too. And although its not a thai place, the yellowcurry was spot on. I would recommend this place to everyone who goes to Valdez, AK. Its a bit on the expensive side but you canalways try it out once. Read more
Had the salmon dinner. Delicious! Salmon cooked almost perfect, just slightly dry on edges. The place is busy all the time,... but still seems friendly & comfortable. The view of the mountain is outstanding. Read more
We chose Fat Mermaid as it was rated well and one of the only spots open after a long day on the road. The menu offers many... options, but our food wasn?t great. We tried a pizza and French dip. The pizza was bland and the French dip and fries were verysalty. Our server, Kadir, capped the night with a disrespect comment before brining our check. My wife got sick within minutesof leaving the restaurant, so we won?t be returning or recommending. Read more
Valdez was our number one destination when planning our trip to Alaska and it did not dissapoint. Our air bnb host recommended... this place for dinner and it lived up to the hype. The view was fantastic, the service by Daniel was exceptional, he was genuineand attentive without being over the top. We had the halibut and chips mine grilled his fried and it was perfect. My husbandliked his so much he ordered a second basket(cod this time) for dessert instead of the ube cake I ordered. Great spot. Read more
This is a great restaurant with many Asian/Western food selections. They have ube cake and other desserts. We ordered two root... beer floats and it had ice in it. Not sure why they added ice. We might come back for dinner to try other dishes if we are nottoo tired from kayaking tomorrow. Read more
Mid-September there really wasn't much to choose from for dining options. Everyone kept telling us this was the best sit-down... place. It was fine... We shared their seafood platter. The shrimp were great. The calamari was tiny and the salmon dip tastedlike Costco's but way overpriced. Next time, we'd stick with the food trucks down the street. Read more
