Hadn't been here in some years so we thought we would give it a try. The service was great, Craig, our waiter was attentive and... helpful in making choices for our meal. I ordered the surf and turf special and my wife ordered the three Cajun shrimp appetizeras her meal, not feeling too hungry. Wine was great, bread was okay. The food came and presentation was very nice however therewas one big problem. First off, my late father would always rate a restaurant immediately by the temperature of the plate itselfthat the food came on. For a restaurant at this class, the plates should come hot. The food was lukewarm bordering on cold. Thisis a huge No-No and immediately turned us off to the experience. The taste of the food was fine and would have been great had itbeen properly served at the right temperature. It was really too bad. Still, we ordered the crème brulee which was much largerthan we anticipated and was excellent. Overall I wish I could give it a better score but that is just a requirement that allrestaurants should abide by. Hot food on a hot plate. Read more
Had a great pre wedding anniversary dinner here with my wife and relatives. It was a memorable experience with great steaks and... deserts. Was our first time here and it wont be our last. Read more
Normally I would give Larsen's 5 stars. Today they earned 3. Went for my best friends bday in a large party. One of the waiters... a older gentleman was extremely rude to certain individuals in our party. Also I didn't like that my receipt didn't reflect theamount I had to pay as the staff decided to charge a gratuity after the receipt was given and did not match the total paidamount. Read more
I am giving them a low rating because they stopped taking American Express. They've taken it without question when I have dined... there in the past. Any restaurant that purports to be a high-end, gourmet restaurant that doesn't take American Express is outof their mind. To be fair, the food and service were great, as usual, though typically expensive. Then, the surprise with thecheck: I tendered my Amex card, and the bartender looked like he'd swallowed a bee. "Do you have a different card, sir? Wedon't take American Express." Thankfully I wasn't hosting anyone, and I just paid cash. Next time I'm in the mood for a highquality dinner I'll probably give Larsen's a pass and head to a steak house in the San Fernando Valley or Pasadena, especiallyif I've got any guests. Read more
I ordered the Daou Cabernet Sauvingon 2019, 24 oz Prime Bone in Ribeye, Sauteed Mushrooms on the side, side of Creamed Spinach... and side of Mashed Potatoes. The very best part was the Creamed Spinach. It’s definitely the gold standard for me when itcomes to Creamed Spinach. Unfortunately the cut of meat was not the best but everything else was great. My favorite thing about Larsen’s is always the service. It is just great. I have never have a negative experience with anyone.... Plus the food always taste amazing and fresh. The house salad is one of my favorite, but if you are a stake lover you need totry the fillet mignon. The sliders are also pretty good. Read more
Hands down - one of MY TOP favorites. The atmosphere is classy, romantic, and dimly lit. A live pianist performed at dinner.... Food is amazing and beyond expectations. The crab comes split so no tools necessary which makes it less messy. Each table has acandle. If you're ever near Six Flags Magic Mountain I highly recommend Larsons Steakhouse. One of the best restaurant experiences I have had in the area. The ambiance was captivating. The piano played in the bar area... was magical. The layout of the place, aesthetically appealing. Charlene was a delight and supremely knowledgeable about pairingsand menu items. I enjoyed mushrooms, garlic potatoes, salmon, Mac & cheese, crab/spinach/artichoke dip and a Grand Manhattan.Every single item that was placed on the table was delectable! Read more
