Tonight while eating at this restaurant I witnessed a table of two ladies with a baby treat waitstaff not only rudely but also... as if they were superior to her. My husband and I were embarrassed by their behavior. The owner kindly came out and askedthem if they needed anything else, to which they reacted very inappropriately to as well. This escalated and the police werecalled; they then tried to convince everyone in the restaurant that they were the victims. The real victim was the baby thathad to witness it?s grandmother and mother?s behavior and then be driven home by adults that had been drinking. They tooktheir food in to go containers, had returned 4 margaritas, and then ordered two more custom made, however skipped out on payingtheir bill. I wish they had hung around to see the people that offered to pay the bill for them and that felt horrible for thewaitress and owner being treated the way they were. If you want great food and service you should definitely eat at El Patio. Read more

Stopped by on a whim while traveling through Van Alstyne (we love little hole in the wall places like this). Food didn?t... disappoint. Salsa and chips excellent and the sour cream topping on the enchiladas was as good as I?ve ever had! Read more

Oh my goodness!!! Y'all this place is delicious!!!! I read through the reviews before going and was a little nervous, but I am... glad I didn't let them influence my decision. Portions are perfectly sized, my husband and I are stuffed and the flavors areincredible! The atmosphere is great, it's a small hole in the wall establishment with great character! We had no problemswhatsoever with the service, our waiter was very new and in training but did great, and had someone assisting/training him asthey went. 10/10 recommend! We will definitely be back and often! Read more

This was a great place to eat! It is a very small place with about ten tables. (There is a patio with additional seating, but... not in use today) The food was on point! There is a reason the place was packed. Even though it was busy the wait staff workedwell together to make sure every table was taken care of. Everything we ordered was really good. I had the chimichanga and mywife had the nopalitos. My daughter had the fajitas. My mouth is watering as I'm thinking about it writing this review. Now Iknow why this place is always busy when I drive by. They also has live music during my visit, which was on a Monday evening. They were very nice people. Enjoyed chatting with them. Read more

This place was awesome. Home style atmosphere, large patio, excellent homemade food from a Mexican restaurant that's been in... dallas for decades, but moved to Van Alstyne 9 years ago. Service was great, fajitas were too, as well as the #1 (not pictured).Be sure to try that spicy green salsa! And those refried beans are definitely authentic and worth every bite. A bit out of theway for us, I hope they open a location in McKinney, but we will be sure to frequent this place more often. Read more
