Every time we?re in the valley we stop for tacos here. These are probably the best vegan tacos and rice that can be had in Los... Angeles, but the person working the register was being incredibly rude, unnecessarily arguing with a totally polite Blackcustomer about what she ordered. The employee was talking about her while she was in the restaurant and after she left he goteven louder, talking about her like he was trying to make Nury Martinez proud. Honestly if we hadn?t already paid for our orderwe probably would have walked out. The staffs behavior made us genuinely uncomfortable, and has us reconsidering ever comingback again, regardless of how good the tacos are. Read more
Beyond amazing, this is a paradise for vegan Mexican food. The flavor, spice, selection, I have never seen anything like it. A... must visit Los Angeles Mexican Food Experience for veggie and non veggies alike. The owner is also so friendly, helpful, it isclear his passion goes into the food. So yummy! Wow! I got a quesadilla with asada meat and it was incredible! The best way I could compare the taste, is to a... Chipotle quesadilla with steak. Except, of course, this one was vegan! I really, really enjoyed Chipotle's quesadilla before Iwent vegan and I never thought I'd eat a vegan one that would taste anything like that...until El Cocinero! I highly recommendthe quesadilla, the mozzarella was so smooth, pullable and flavorful! The asada meat was well seasoned, had an incredibletexture and was a great contrast, with slight spice to the mozzarella! The inside is nice and I went there with non vegans andthey could not tell it was a vegan restaurant! It's warm and inviting! I recommend this place if you're in the area, even thoughit was a little hard to find the turn into the plaza, but I will say it is a bit pricey for the portion size. Today my lovely daughter wanted to support a locally owned business. She invited me to eat vegan. I am kind of picky in that but... I wanted to try the vegan Nachos al pastor and for her with Carne asada. These Nachos are out of this world. They taste soogood, the best Nachos I ever ate!! Very good food and 100% vegan!! Read more

Really amazing vegetarian Mexican food joint. Their carnitas and al pastor are made of jackfruit and the rest are made of soy... derivative. For meat choices, I highly recommend the al pastor, eggplant, chicharron, and carne asada! Kombucharecommendations are the watermelon and cherry bomb! Please be prepared to come to this restaurant over and over again because this food is some of the absolute best food you will... ever eat! I got a torta and it was so giant and filling.
