The food was very good. Large seating area and outdoor patio. When dining in I would prefer that they take the food to your... table rather than yelling out your order, I can understand if getting a coffee to go. Clean ...but I did not see any wiping downtables between customers. Staff were friendly. $$ Read more

Initially drawn in due to the lack of a line which seemed like a major bonus considering how close to Granville island the cafe... is located! Prices also seemed reasonable for the area. Once walking our first impression was high as the cafe is clean andtasteful. Our order was taken promptly and although the struggle of the language barrier the lady received our order exactlywhich is always a good sign. Our first drawback encounter was when we noticed the food was already made and only needed to beheated up. Of course this may not takeaway from the quality of the food but for the price it seemed a bit surprising. We tookour seats despite our slight dismay but enjoyed the stunning view of the harbour while waited. The first of our food arrivedfairly quickly but it was disappointing to see they couldn’t deliver both meals simultaneously; who wants to watch your girleat without you! The food was very good with the exception of one of the meals being slightly cold. The lady working also seemedto have forgotten about one of our drinks as I had to inquire about it after seemingly no progress was being made. Lastimpressions grew dim as we noticed the two lady’s working didn’t seem to carry the tone one would expected to receive fromsuch an upscale cafe as this one has set out to be. Overall on a busy day in Granville this cafe might be your spot if yourlooking for quick service and reasonable prices but if your searching for an experience best to look elsewhere. Cheers! Blue Hat Bistro Cafe is a facade to Granville Island. It is overlooking the boats and yacht docked along Granville Island... Seawall. The place is clean and bright. Every marbled table has a few stems of fresh Carnation, matching a neat leatherettechair. Their blue teal coffee mug with a logo of Pacific Institute of Culinary and arts is in perfect condition, no scratch, crack lines or chip. The coffee tastes good. I had a descent serving of old fashioned chocolate cake which is not too sweet nordry. But a little bit pricey though. I might try some of their pastries next time cause they look so appealing and fresh. Atthe end of our break, I’ve used their washroom and I’m satisfied for its cleanliness. I will surely comeback there again. Read more

This review is strictly on the baked goods and pastries and not on the restaurant food. I ordered the black forest, mille... fueille and a berry danish to go. The total came up to around $19-20. The black forest was definitely on the sweeter side. Thecherries on the inside are soaked in alcohol which I liked as it is a black forest. The cake itself wasn't too dry but I feltlike there was too much mousse and it was just too sweet for me personally. The mille fueille was definitely the best out ofthe three desserts. The layers of puff pastry was nice and crispy and light. Very buttery. The diplomat cream wasn't too sweetand was well balanced. Berry danish was the biggest disappointment out of the three. It was not crispy at all, almost to thepoint where it was tough. It wasn't flaky and pretty disappointing. Overall the items were pretty disappointing especially forthe price. I did love the decor and this would probably be a great place to chill and catch up with friends but not for the goodbut for the ambiance. Read more

I used to love this place and I came almost everyday. The Chicken and Bacon Sandwiches, soups, and sourdough breads were some of... my favorites, and with reasonable prices. But since this place renovated, some of the prices increased or doubled. I stopppedcoming for awhile, but today, I decided to pay them a visit. I saw the same friendly staff who used to help me, Lily, whogreeted me enthusiastically. I ordered a Mediterranean Tuna Sandwich on multi-grain. I loved the artichoke, and the textures andflavours were also amazing. I'm glad to come back. Read more

We tried them out during Dine Out Vancouver 2020, and we were very impressed. Our server was very attentive, patient, and funny.... He made sure we had a great time. And the food? Excellent, right from the plating down to the dessert's smallest morsel. Highlyrecommended. Read more
