First time at this location. Oysters are good loved the kushti. Cajun fries are tasty as well!

Really good food, really slow service. It was busy, but by no means full. We got the fried calamari, fries and cajun mussels to... share. We were hungry so asked them to bring the food in whatever order it was made. It took 45 minutes for the food to arrive.The fries were cold, but the calamari and mussels were excellent- very fresh seafood. We asked for more drinks for our food,but they took about 20 minutes and we ended up canceling one drink order as it hadn't arrived by the time we'd finished eating(we don't eat particularly fast). We barely saw our waiter and had to go look for him if we needed something. The waiter servingneighboring tables checked in on us from time to time and I noticed his tables came and went in the time we were there. Wewaited some more for dessert and after dessert we asked for the bill... of course the credit card machine was broken, and thestaff kept telling us they would bring the old-school paper version, but that took a while. These things happen, but by the timewe left, we'd been there for almost 2 hours, spent more time waiting than enjoying the meal and missed a gorgeous sunset- kindof a bummer on my birthday dinner date at Kits beach with my husband. We hosted my daughter's first birthday at their Kits location and it was amazing!! The staff are super friendly. This is a... restaurant owned by a lovely husband and wife (Jamie and Mel) who I had the pleasure of coordinating this event with Mel alsooffers decor/ ballon arch packages that you can coordinate with her for special events. Amazing happy hour menu! $1.75-$2.50 oysters and they were so plump and fresh! Happy hour food: hot wings, calamari and spicy... broccoli. The calamari was melt in your mouth tender and the broccoli was actually a nice tasty surprise! Read more

I’ve changed my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. Original Review: I’ve beencoming to Chewies for years, mostly on Sundays. I’ve recently been back after COVID. Our experience was less than optimal.The food was great all around, however the service was not great in the slightest. It took close to ten minutes for someone tocome over. Once they did, we placed our order, but from there, we constantly had to ask for obvious things. More water, anotherdrink, new fork, the bill, etc. Our entire time was spent trying to flag down the server to either order additional items or askfor common things. Not intuitive or on top of it at all. We also came at a time in which there were limited tables in therestaurant. The server probably had one or two tables to look out for. Disappointing. Chewies has always been a favouritedestination, especially in Kits, because, you can head for a walk down the beach after your meal. Read more

Great food, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Nice dining area and it's easy to eat at. Patio or inside (before covid). Decent... alcohol and beverage selections. Sometimes over fried on chicken. Occasionally over salted fried batter/potatoes but that makesfor more opportunities to drink ;) The fried chicken, oysters and shrimp jumbo are probably their most famous items. Streetparking. It's not "waterfront dining" but you can go for a walk to Kit's Beach afterwards to digest! Read more
