We happened across this place during the Light Up Chinatown festival. It was extremely popular! Just managed to get a table. We... had the 3 meat BBQ platter and stir fried Chinese vegetables. The food was delicious! So we went back for lunch on our last dayin Vancouver. We had the daily soup (bean and winter melon), beef curry brisket and Hong Kong style BBQ pork. Would definitelyrecommend. Read more

This was my first visit to Chinatown BBQ and it will definitely NOT be my last. I grew up in Vancouver, moved away decades ago,... but I visit yearly to visit family, friends, and eat as much Chinese food as possible. Our table of four ordered Curry BeefBrisket rice, 1/2 Soy Sauce Chicken, Chinese Broccoli with oyster sauce, and Roasted Pork on rice - which was especiallydelicious and the skin was perfectly crispy! This whole meal brought my childhood memories of authentic flavors of old VancouverChinatown rushing back as I savored each bite. By the end of our meal not a morsel was left. We were comfortably full, but weforced ourselves to try the Osmanthus lychee pudding, which we had never heard of. I am of Chinese heritage and have never beenfond of most Chinese desserts, but this was refreshing and delicious! I highly recommend it. Besides the food, the decor broughtback memories of the days of old and we enjoyed looking at the pictures on the walls, as did other patrons. One lady waswandering the restaurant admiring the images on the walls after her meal. I highly recommend Chinatown BBQ!! Read more

Cute spot in Chinatown - retro diner meets Chinese restaurant! We came less than an hour before closing and while that meant... they were out of BBQ duck, the soy chicken, vegetable fried rice and Chinese broccoli in oyster sauce did NOT disappoint. Thechicken was so delicious and tender and the skin packed a lot of flavour. A great addition was the ginger and scallion sidesauce provided for the chicken. The service was very fast and very friendly. Would highly recommend visiting for a meal! Read more

Without a doubt the best Chinese BBQ restaurant my wife and I have been to. My favorite was the roast pork. So crispy and... flavorful. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Appreciated the host recommending the 3 meat dish and Gai lan with chilicrisp, a delicious combo that went very well together. I wish Boston or New York had Chinese BBQ this good! Read more

I love going to this place not only for the amazing food but also for the retro vibe that reminds me of restaurants back in... Asia. We got the 3 BBQ meat platter and picked Roast Pork, BBQ duck, Soy Chicken. We would have also gotten BBQ pork but 4 meatdishes seemed a bit too much for just two people. We also got the Gai Lan with Oyster Sauce which was very flavourful. Thisplace honestly never disappoints. Food, ambiance, and service are top notch. Read more

Clean, simple, and fresh Cantonese fare in a hip retro-inspired interior with staff that is kind and attentive and efficient. I... was immediately impressed by the pretty décor and the smartly outfitted host and servers. They are super kind and were graciousenough to have a conversation with me about their nationalities. The food is served in beautiful and traditional-inspireddishware, and then BBQ Duck in Noodle Soup that I ordered was delicious. I wish that the noodles were a bit longer because theywere hard to scoop up with my chopsticks. The plum (?) sauce that accompanied the meat was yummy, and didn't taste like it camestraight out of a jar. I really appreciate that after the meal the servers seem to ask all the customers about their experienceand if they have been to the restaurant before. Even though many people are just stopping by for a quick bite, the attitude ofthe staff is very kind. I'll definitely be back. Read more
