We used Emelle?s for a buffet style dinner for our backyard wedding (60 people) and had a great experience. The food was great,... lots of options and we enjoyed the tasting experience and flexibility of the menu. They were also very flexible and worked withus to design the right package (we hired rentals from another company and also supplied our own alcohol and mixers). But thepart we were most blown away from was the service staff. We had two servers, a supervisor, and a bartender and they were allamazing. The servers went above and beyond to clear plates and even helped us stack away tables and chairs which we had orderedthrough a separate rental company. We also had a guest leave an expensive pair of designer glasses on a table which were safelyput aside by the servers when they cleared the tables, would have been a really easy thing to pocket so we appreciated thehonesty. While I didn?t catch the name of the servers, the bartender (Shauna) was amazing. All of our guests so enjoyed hercompany and she was so professional and tolerant of all the affectionate and friendly guests who probably talked her ears off.Our guests all had nothing but positive things to say about her and her bar service. Wouldn't recommend for a wedding reception. I'm not usually one that writes reviews like this, but I've never been so... disappointed in service, let alone it was on my wedding day so here goes nothing to share my experience. My partner and I wentwith Emelle's for a buffet style reception and were excited after our tasting. On my wedding day, they delivered the wrong saladand main, after double checking it with the coordinator. I also had to nudge the service staff to help clear the table. Therewas such a lag that my mom actually started to clear away the plates..... When I went to ask for help, the 'service' staff wererelaxing on the sofas inside. Other things of note- I asked that champagne and our pretzel apps would be offered to guests onarrival, both weren't done. So if you are looking for quality service and no hassle on your wedding day, I wouldn't recommend. Quite embarrassed to say the least for below the bar service. Oh to add to it, there was a measly discount provided for themis-hap. No call from the manager and a delayed response. On a positive note- the guests thought the bartender was fun. Read more
This is a review for their dine-in restaurant. One of the best places I have been to for a while. Very good for work lunches as... you pay upfront at the counter. Food is great and you can tell It's made with care. Homestyle food food for great prices. Greatdrink selection and a great patio across from a nice park. Good value spot for a quick lunch. Food tried this visit: 1. Barbecue chicken came with choice of fries, soup, or salad. Beef... soup was selected. There was plenty of barbecue sauce on the three pieces of chicken. Chicken was fresh but was a touch overcooked. 2. Beef dip: au jus sauce was on the thick side and needed more seasoning. It was ok for the price point. More beefdrippings/stock, red wine and seasoning could have added more depth to elevate the flavour. Beef itself was over cooked for mypreference so was very dry and did not taste fresh. Fries seemed to be house made and were cut well. They could have been frieda few minutes longer for a crispier finish. The salad was fresh and dressed perfectly with a vinaigrette. Note: surchargerequired for getting half salad and fries. Service: very friendly and helpful Ordering: Items can be ordered at the counter orin advance on Ritual. Seating is available indoor and out in the front patio. Nice patio outside with both sun and shade. Lots of hot meal options and not just soup and sandwiches! First you order inside... then they will bring it to you at your table. I ordered a desert and they brought it to me after my meal, it was great.Cocktails, local beer and wine are also an added bonus. Fresh and yummy. Found this place during my lunch break and I'm glad I did. The food here is of high quality. I had the chicken pesto brie... sandwich and beef soup. Both were excellent and were miles better then the average soup and sandwich you get at most cafe's anddeli's. Portions were a bit on the smaller side but for how good everything tasted it was still worth it. Highly recommend thisplace for lunch. Read more
Emelles did an absolutely amazing job catering our September wedding. Nicole was great at working with us to create a menu that... we were in love with. We ended up being offered two tastings just to ensure that all menu changes from the first were to ourtaste. On the day of, food was absolutely superb and our guests loved it as well. There were a lot of compliments, especiallyfor the Mac and Cheese. The catering staff were also excellent, getting everything prepared, set up, served, and coordinated. Read more
