I love Van Dusen Gardens but the cafe always misses the mark when it comes to the food, service and environmental awareness. For... me the major issue is the service. Staff, although smiley and friendly (sometimes), seem to lack basic training andunderstanding of what menu items are, how they should be served for optimum taste and how to cope with large numbers of people.Seems like there is a problem with how team members are on-boarded, trained and supported on a daily basis. Fine botanical garden, nice flowers, BUT, for owners and managers of the place: If you decided to give half of the garden for 2... simultaneous weddings and restrict access to those places-then why do you take full price for admission ticket? Me and my wifecame to relax and enjoy nature, but instead we ware asked to leave most photogenic spots, because it?s a ?private party there?,I feel infinite lack of respect and professionalism from all the employe levels, totally unfair and disappointing. When I bring the coffee, tea and the muffin back to the table in the patio, my wife is upset about the paper cup and the paper... bag. She is so disappointed about the cup and plate. She say everyone understand that the pandemic makes so many things haveto change. She is still remember that we always bring friends form overseas for the traditional English afternoon tea yearsago. All my friends say this is a really nice place for afternoon tea with a scenery garden setting. There are still some shopsand hotels offer afternoon tea in Vancouver but this is the only one with the beautiful garden. My wife really hopes this placecan bring all the good things when the situation is changing. We hope you make this place is a memorable place for allvisitors. A wonderful place to gather with friends for lunch. The food is amazingly good for a cafe style. The staff and servers were... efficient, friendly, and courteous. We recently had lunch after our walk in the garden. The cafe was not too busy and we got a table in the outdoor patio on the... garden side. There were reasonable options for lunch. There were sandwiches and wraps and simple desserts and snacks. Coffeewas good. But the best part was to sit outside in the fresh air on a sunny day, which has been rare in Vancouver. Outstanding customer Service! It was our first visit to the cafe and were juggling between Basket and High Tea for afternoon... lunch today and finally opted for high tea based on suggestion from Jagdish at the front desk. We made a request for avegetarian sandwich as it's not a standard menu item and she took the request. I must say that it's the finest vegetariansandwich we have ever had with fine choice of ingredients such as Egg plant, tomatoes, mushroom, zucchini, cheese and sauce. Itliterally melted in our mouth! The savouries and croissant were equally delicious. Additionally, her outgoing customer serviceand the ability to seek feedback on how the food is an icing on the cake. We were ecstatic about the food, happy with the pricetag and delighted with the above and beyond customer service offered by her. Will definitely recommend this place to everyonewho visits Vancouver. Well, this café could be a lot better! It doesn't look like a well-equipped café that you can find in Vancouver! ???? Located... at at the VanDusen Botanical Garden's Visitor Center, The Truffles is more good for drinking than eating. You have to order inadvance before sitting. If weather is nice, you can sit in patio with a picturesque view of the garden and its lake. ?? As itspart of the whole VanDusen Garden, the ceiling and decoration is contingent and eye-catching. ?? The coffee is average, yetgood to have especially with the beautiful scenery. By the way, you might see one or some ducks ???? under your feet!
