We weren't expecting much, we just wanted a place to have some drinks and eat some food on a night out, and so many places... aren't really open with the food we wanted. We were familiar with Guu from their places in Toronto, and know it's a pretty safebet. So, we saw they were still open and headed down. A few bottles of sake and a lot of surprisingly good food later, we leftfully satisfied. We ate so much and the bill wasn't very high at all! Great bang for buck. We could have just stayed their until2am, had they been open that late. It made me miss the old days of Guu on Church St. (Even though I know technically it's justa new name here... All Guu restaurants are my favorite, and this one is no exception. I had a fantastic time enjoying some delicious food and... drinks here. They do excellent small plates. The beer was light and crisp. Sake was beautiful, fruity, lovely aftertaste. Thevibe in this place is perfect! It's fun without getting loud. Servers are fantastic and add much of it's charm. I can't wait formy next Vancouver jaunt, and come enjoy this delicious restaurant again. Read more
Portions are kind of small. Food is not super impressive but on the standards. Good atmosphere. It is a place you could enjoy... and experience Japanese izakaya(pub). If you are going to have first dates, it is a restaurant you could go to and not going tomake you broke. ???? Read more
