Reviews for La Quercia in Vancouver, BC

The servers were lovely and very informative. Based on previous reviews it sounds like they've done some work in that area. The... food was meh for me. Shared two antipastas, and two pastas including the truffle angel hair priced at$70. Found the proportionsof sweet to salty to be off. The truffle pasta was drenched in oil. I could barely finish it. The ice cream dessert was lovelyand well balanced in flavours. Read more

A largely meh experience. Having dined at this restaurant several times over the past few years, one can't help but notice its... decline. Stale bread, bland antipasti and pedestrian pasta. The place has lost its wow factor and been reduced to anotheroverpriced Vancouver institution that has forgotten its soul. Read more

Hands down my favourite restaurant in Greater Vancouver for pasta. Book early because the restaurant is small and tables go... quickly. Great for couples or small groups. Been dining here consistently for many years now and the pasta never disappoints.Pasta and menu offerings change daily depending on what's in season and you will always have 5 or more unique pasta types tochoose from on any given night. Hard to pinpoint our favorites because they are all excellent but we especially love theirstuffed pastas like agnolotti and long pastas like tajarin or taglierini. Last night they had beautiful tomatoes from Okanaganso the menu was showcasing 8+ tomato dishes. We tried the tomato and burrata salad (see photo) and the tomatoes were refreshingand sweet which paired well with the creamy and savory burrata that melted in your mouth. Service is always friendly and onpoint and we never feel rushed or hurried in any way. Over the years I have learned to appreciate good pasta thanks to LaQuercia and it is now my gold standard for pasta anywhere in the world. Awards and accolades may speak for themselves but I urgeyou to give La Quercia a try if you haven't already -- you will not be disappointed. Read more

This was easily the worst service I've ever received from a restaurant at this price point, at least the waitress kept bringing... us water. Food and cocktails were tasty, but not anything to write home about. I really don't understand how this restaurantcan can have an overall rating of almost 5 starts. For the same price you can go and get a far better experience - just go toAsk Luigi, Osteria, Say Merci or Anna Lena. Super disappointing. Read more

Easily the best Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Honestly so much better than the overrated places like ask for luigi and lupo... (although also good places). The ambiance is also amazing, great for dates and family dinners. Highly recommend Read more

Quaint and simple. There are reviews about service but I found the service quite good. The waitress was very helpful with her... knowledge of the menu. Recommend the duck Ragu pasta. The chicken was a bit of a hit and miss though Read more

We chose the restaurant despite the negative reviews about their service. The reviews on the food were always positive and so we... figured it would be worth the try. But no amount of good food can make up for their waitress (seems to be their only waitress)who seems to lack patience, is easily frustrated and probably shouldn?t be customer facing at all. We spent about 100 dollarsper person and we definitely wished we had gone somewhere else. The food is very good, one dish was definitely off but theydidn?t seem to think it was the dish but more us. I was expecting the warm hospitality that we?ve experienced at their sisterrestaurant oca pastifico but it was far from that. If your customer facing, and where you have a direct impact on yourcustomer?s experience, some warmth is the minimum expectation. Read more

We had the family menu and I found it a bit of hit and miss. A number of items just were not to our preference. Also, although... nothing was wrong with our waitresses business like style I wasn't a huge fan of her service. I think I personally would preferother places but if you decide to go I recommend you avoid the family menu and pick options you think you'd like. Read more
