Anyone saw this review, PLEASE AVOID this place at all cost. It is NOT authentic Chinese food. Overpriced and taste nothing like... the real Chinese cruisine, I was fooled by the fake reviews on the front page. Big mistake, buyer be aware. I think the ownerhas some serious integrity issues based on reading other reviews. I would not order from this place anymore. Read more

It was just ok. There was no acid in anything, so the whole meal lacked brightness. This was especially disappointing for me... because I got the braised brisket and saw it came with purple cabbage, which I assumed would be tossed in some kind of acid (itseems like a no-brainer on a rich dish). But no dice. My partner got the Shanghai Noodles and it tasted one-note/flatthroughout because of the lack of acid as well. I shed a tear when our bbq pork bao had an undressed/underdressed coleslawinside. Again, nothing was awful or inedible, but I could have made it better at home and that’s not what you want to walkaway feeling when you walk into a restaurant with such loud, fun decor and a slogan like “Chinese Food with Attitude”. Ifeel like it almost does the place a disservice that the visual experience/ambiance so far outperforms the flavour. Service wasa bit weird and servers seemed confused. The drinks were really good! Food was INCREDIBLE. Service was amazing, multiple people checked in on me during my meal and made sure everything was going... well and were happy to answer any questions. Two happy hour items and a happy hour wine ended up just over $25 - really wellpriced for the size and quality of what you get! Highly recommend the pork bao bun and chili wonton! Read more

This was a really good experience. The service was delightful and the dishes were unique and delicious. Very good choices for... vegetarians. And the cocktail creations were top notch. I highly recommend. Read more

We recently had dinner at Old Bird and ordered the Salted Egg Yolk chicken, BBQ pork baos and Ragu fried rice. We were seated... with a group of 11 people and our food took almost an hour before we got our entrees. Although we waited a while for our food, the appetizers were delicious (maybe even better than our main). Their brunch menu looks very appealing, so we'll come back forthat and hope for speedier service. Read more

The ambience is awesome however if you are well travelled around Asia and your family is very Asian then this is fusion Chinese... food! Though the menu is very creative, the price is definitely quite high! It's a place I have always wanted to check out andI did and that's good enough. Totally for hipsters though I loved the ambiance! Love this spot for drinks and Chinese fusion dishes! Their chilli oil is so good and I was excited to hear that you can buy it... by the jar to bring home! Our waitress was also so lovely and attentive. Read more

This is one of my new favourites since moving to Vancouver! I love good cocktails, ambiance and trying new foods, so Old Bird... was easily an enjoyable restaurant to visit. Their bartender makes great drinks, the staff are super friendly and theirselection of spirits (including Baijiu!) is fantastic. And you can't forget those red lanterns, they add to a mesmerizingevening. Thank you for a great time last week and we will be back! Read more
