Great Weat End location on a quiet residential street. The decor was very well done with just the right amount of lighting. As... walk-ins we were very fortunate to get a short wait for a table on the covered patio, and even though it was a cold night theheaters did their job made us very comfortable. For dinner we started with caprese and calamari. For pasta we had the gnocci, primavera, and basil burrata. Entrees were cioppino and strip steak. Dessert was tiramisu and creme brulee. Nothing was bad, butneither did anything stand out. From a culinary perspective Robba da Matti is a safe place to go for a first date but with somany great Italian restaurants around I would not consider any of the dishes we tried here memorable or worth repeating. Our dinner was good, the food was ok, serving portion was just right, not overwhelmingly large. We were seated outdoor, it was... comfortably heated and I love that I did not feel a single mosquito nor a fly. Read more

Service is very friendly and the patio was one of the best I’ve been in Vancouver. Very cozy and spacious. The Insalata... Celeste was very tasty, the goat cheese made it 100% better. It was drizzled with balsamic and had a sweet taste to it. Thebruschetta was tasty and simple. For main dishes I got a Risotto Ai Funghi. It tasted smoked or burnt, I couldn’t put myfinger on what the taste was but it was not my favorite. It was also a little bland. The spaghetti al pesto e burrata was goodand the sea food one too. Tiramisu was tasty and in my opinion decently priced. Overall the experience was good because of theservice and ambiance rather than the food itself. Read more

Great italian restaurant with cute ambience. The servers were super friendly, and service was quick. We got the beef carpaccio,... spaghetti allo scoglio and the parapadelle rosche rosche. Beef carpaccio was delicious, topped with a light horseradish aioli, arugula and parmesean. The pastas were quite tasty as well. The seafood in the spaghetti tasted fresh, and the parpadelle hadvery tender shortrib meat, but I thought the flavour was a bit underwhelming. Overall was a great experience, except that ourtable was right next to an outdoor bench that some smokers were sitting at so we had the smell of smoke for half of the evening. Read more

Having read all the rave reviews I thought I’d give Robba da Matti a look. The good: the location is cool, in a residential... area, a short walk from the beach. 2/3 of the food was super tasty, such as the burrata starter and the Parma ham bruschettastarter. The cheese gnocchi was delicious and very obviously made in house and the desserts were wonderful. Service was alsofabulous mostly, but slowed down towards the end. We had to ask for black pepper and I could have used a coffee at the end tocombat my carb crash! The inside space looked very romantic with lovely decor. The not so good: The tomato based dishes we hadwere bland (pomodoro bruschetta and pasta alla primavera). My experience with Italian food is that even though the it isgenerally simple, it’s always full of flavour. We booked the patio because of how pretty it looked on the photos. However, wehad an outer table with a view onto the unused patio area which was full of old tables and chairs. It wouldn’t take mucheffort to move them and fill the space with some big pots and plants, which may also diffuse the smell of cigarette smokedrifting over from the street. Read more

This location is amazing! One of my favorite Italian places in Vancouver (& I love Italian). Have sat both inside and on the... patio and prefer the patio—it’s covered with heaters so even when it’s not summer it’s an amazing place to go. I’venever not gotten the four cheese Gnocchi because I’ve never had a better Gnocchi dish in my life. Read more

We went there during the dine out vancouver event. Looking at the regular prices, the dine out vancouver set menu is equivalent... to getting a free dessert. Me and my wife got the same appetizer which is the beef carpaccio. The serving is big andtechnically can be shared. It also came with bread. Delicious ???? Our mains Shrimp & lobster ravioli Pesto pasta Both weredelicious and very yummy. Serving size is about right. Desserts Tiramisu and panna cotta with berries. I like them but it's notthe best. Staff is very attentive and very friendly. Serving time is good. Ambiance is cozy. Bathroom is clean but ordinary Wewill come back! Read more
