“I’M TELLING YOU THAT FOOD WAS SO GOOD!” These were the words of one of my good friends, whose husband is a chef and owns... a restaurant on South Granville. Other quotes from my wedding guests include, “that steak was so incredibly tender” and,“Sablefish is my favourite, but it never tasted so good before!”. My vegan friend came up to me during dinner, fork in hand and said, “you have to try this. It’s the best mushroom I’ve ever had”. In fact, every time I ran into a friend afterour wedding, the memory of the food would come back to them, and mid-sentence, their eyes would widen and they’d say, “oh mygod! The food!” It was so rewarding to hear how the people I loved felt nourished and beyond satisfied with their meal at ourwedding. The catering and bartending staff were also phenomenal! They were so friendly and helpful – I remember one staff whoheld my plate for me at the buffet while I held the train of my dress up. And I can’t thank Levi enough, who was our food andbeverage manager. He always answered my emails in a timely way, and he managed to snag the last few rental patio warmers in thecity before our October wedding. Because we were married during pandemic restrictions, dancing wasn’t permitted indoors, butwith the patio warmers and a covered patio, our guests sang karaoke and danced their hearts out! Sage catered our Aug 12, 2022 wedding at Cecil Green Park House. We worked with several different coordinators, but Jessalyn was... who we worked with in the months leading up to the wedding and she was very patient, friendly, and helpful through the entireplanning process! I had many questions and was a bit indecisive, and she was there every step of the way! We had platters andpassed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, a buffet-style dinner, and some additional tarts for dessert. Our guests raved aboutthe food, especially the chorizo potato skins, mushroom rigatoni, and chocolate sea salt tarts. My partner and I were blown awayby the professionalism and attentiveness of the day-of catering staff, who made sure we were well fed and hydrated throughoutthe event. Thank you so much for, Sage, for your flawless execution of our wedding! Read more

Came here to attend a wedding. The food was very good and service was great. I appreciated the service because I've been to two... weddings previously in the same year (one of them was a certain golf course in Canmore), and Sage is the best in terms ofhospitality. Compared to the one in Canmore, they didn't take away our unfinished drinks, always had coffee and desserts aroundafter dinner, and had more selection in alcoholic drinks. Read more

I had my wedding recently and as Sage is the choice caterer for UBC events we used them for our wedding. Our guests had nothing... but good things to say about the food and that made me very happy. They were able to accommodate all of our requests and wereprofessional. I was very happy with their service and would recommend them to others! Read more

Beautiful catering restaurant/hall. I attended a wedding here. Sage is part of UBC (University of British Colombia). The... restaurant has the most outstanding scenic view. The food that are made is beyond excellency in presentation and in taste. My 3course meals consisted of Brussels salad, Squash ravioli and Tiramisu. Every dish was beautiful looking and the taste washeavenly. Staff for the wedding were wonderful. Read more

We had our wedding ceremony at Rose Garden on September 2020 followed by an outdoor dinner reception at Sage’s outdoor patio.... We set up tent and lights by Sage’s pond and it turned out so beautiful and romantic. Nicky was super helpful and patient withme in terms of making table arrangements and contingent plans. He and his team went above and beyond to make sure our weddingwas a success. Their food was delicious and our guests had a wonderful time. The staff helped us abide by all the health protocols for COVID and we are grateful we were able to have a beautiful wedding in this special time. We are very glad that wechose Sage to be our wedding venue. Read more

Tuesday, I on my own went in at 11:20am, the manager, I presumed, said they would be full at 12. He had to check and check to... find me a table. I was grateful he gave me a table. I ordered quickly. Service reasonable. Bread was old and one piece wassoggy. The appetizer Grill Octopus salad $13 with two short tentacles and two thin slices of over fried dry Chorizo sausage ona big bed of soggy turnips. The main course was Sous Vide Pork Belly $29 which looked good, but the 2 scallops were onlyseared on the top side, the pork belly was so salty that I had to eat every mouthful with a bit of bread. The white sauce wastasty though. I could not eat all the pork, really too salty. The home made Lychee ice-cream $8 was the best of the threecourse lunch which costed $60 with tips. $60 spent, but I had hardly eaten - bread, 2 tentacles, 2 scallops, 2/3 of the 2x2x2in. pork belly, garnish and ice cream. I paid my bill at 12:30pm, but there were only 4 more tables were occupied! Why themanager had trouble finding me a table! Read more

We visited many places around the UBC area that day and by the end of our visit at Sage we were almost certain that it would be... our venue. Nicky was an excellent events coordinator/manager. He provided us with a great tour of the facility. After the menutasting we decided it was the place for our wedding. The venue: Great view to the mountains and the Ocean! It is next to therose garden and many other great venues for the wedding portraits. We needed a few family rooms, and they offered us all therooms we needed (three) two of them facing the fountain/pond. One then was so beautiful we took our family portraits there. Thefood: We had the Fit for Chef menu. All of the courses were excellent! I loved the lobster gnocchi and the steak was superblydone. The fish was a tad on the dry side, but with a big group maybe it is a challenge to get that perfect. The lava cake wasamazing too! The service: The staff at Sage was really accommodating to our needs, and they are flexible. We were able to dropthings the night before, which was great! Nicky was always attentive to my questions and tried his best to make things happen. We had request to bring food from outside (pig roast - Chinese tradition) and they were super accommodating. We also had asurprise band. We were able to arrange it too, as they had a space and curtains to hide them :) Read more
