Finally Japanese Street cuisine in Canada! Takenaka gets so many points for flavour and texture. But in essence it is an... fusion of quality produce cooked in a quality way with acute attention to detail. Eventhough I just ordered the chicken curreyI can tell by having the rice, the perfectly cooked egg and chicken that this meals on wheels could do ramen, donburi, sushi andother foods very well. I look forward to take'n'out food from Takenaka. Read more

Ordered from Uber eat. Food was cold, the sauce was already solid in a summer hot night. Even the soup was lukewarm only. The... bag said 7:15 and the driver arrived at 7:30, so not sure why it was already cold. All foods are too salty. The pork was driedand solid. It doesn?t taste as good as used to be. The almond tofu is just ok. Read more

A very nice Japanese establishment. I had been wanting to try some food from this place. I had recently given birth to my son... who is half Japanese. It seemed fitting to celebrate our first meal back from the hospital with a glorious feast. Everything wasvery spectacular, the presentation, taste, quality and accoutrements. Read more

Taste is good but price is high for a food truck style takeout. We ordered Wagyu Aburi Nigiri ($18.5 for 2 pcs) & Omakase Aburi... Sushi ($23.5 for 8 pcs). Read more

I tried this limited menu item (Ohanami Bento) which comes with 12 yummy bites. This was catered to an event that I went to, so... I did not actually order this myself at their food truck. My faves include the Omakase Aburi Sushi, Unagi Bara Chirashi & Whelkw/ Mentaiko Mayo. It?s fun and interesting to eat since each square has a different item, with unique flavours. I?d beinterested to try their other menu items and bento boxes next time. Ohanami Bento ($35) Read more

The truck happened to be in Kerrisdale so I was lucky enough to get the Omakase aburi sushi. I liked that there were 2 pieces of... each flavour. Each sets flavour tasted unlike each other. I liked the different toppings. I would definitely go back if they arein the neighbourhood again and try their other dishes. The service is super friendly and it's fast. Read more

Order from here over a dozen times and still one of my favorite Japanese joint in town. Although the portion has decreased in... the past 2 years, which I'm attributing to covid or cost of goods rising in the city. The family size deluxe seafood bowl isplenty of food for 4, but have extra on the side some seaweed and ginger as these are not included. The yuzu infused tobiko isstill one of my fav and hoping they will sell individual soon. Read more

Pricey. Nice presentation, but tastes like generic Fujiya. Ordered the family size a la carte platter. Nice presentation. Cold... karrage and cold fried ebi. Aburi sushi cold and rice getting hard not much sear flavour. Large bara chirashi ok. Small for theprice you?re paying. Not much variety or taste. Presentation is nice. The price they are charging you for their items, it willbe a better option to take that money and eat in or take out in a restaurant where the food is freshly made hot. It wouldprobably cost less than this take out and you would probably get more. I was extremely disappointed that this is all premaderefrigerated food thrown into a sushi platter. Ordered on Uber eats the price of the platter was 57$ plus tax. The chirashi was27 plus tax. Read more
