Good service but unfortunately the prices are way too high for the quality and portion size. $20.50 excluding tax / tip for a... very small burger with about 12 french fries. Burger was overcooked and dry and I still felt hungry after. I understandrestaurants need to raise prices but they should offer value while doing so. Have been coming here for 18 years and want to likethis place but I was disappointed. Read more
Service was eggcellent thats the only reason for it getting 2 stars and not one or lower. Food was subpar and the Belgian waffle... combo looked like something from McDonald's at 3x the price complete with packaged maple 'favored" syrup. Sooo bad. Seriouslyskip this place. Go to Dennys or fountain head half a block away. Definitely gone down hill since it was Joe's Grill. Read more
Great breakfast ! I had a waffle sandwich, really good ! Especially if you love eggs, there is plenty of options.The staff is... great too and very accommodating. We went there at 2.30pm before it closed and they let us in with a great smile and service.Thank you guys ! Read more
This was a completely opposite experience to the one branch on Denman street. The one on Denman we loved and this one was a let... down. It was just the food that was simply not good, and the stars that I did give it was only for the service. The Frenchtoast was probably one of the worst I've had. It was flat, tasteless and nearly cold. The scrambled eggs were dry and overcookedwith no seasoning. Even the sourdough toast was not properly toasted....burnt on the edges and not toasted throughout. Theroasted potatoes looked like scrapes from the bottom of the pan, and with all of that, the prices were well....on the high endof breakfast prices in the city. Went for breakfast as I hadn't been since before the pandemic. I have a very small electric scooter and there were no bike racks... within sight of the restaurant. I just wanted to keep my scooter beside me on an empty Patio to ensure it doesn't getstolen This decision has cost them my business in the future and I will never recommend them again. Disappointing to say the least. The single $ on Google is an outright lie at this point. I ordered a waffle combo which came... with two small, square waffles, a couple eggs, a couple sausages and some bacon, with a few pieces of fruit (including a sliceof pineapple so small and thin I could fold it in half.) Friend had the club sandwich which had a couple slices of deli meatinstead of real chicken. For what it all was they were NOT worth the price point of $20 per plate. Joe's used to be a good,simple diner experience at a reasonable price. Now as The Basic it's overpriced, underwhelming food that's certainly worthavoiding in lieu of so many better options in the area. I appreciate costs are going up but good grief, this wasunacceptable. Two stars because the server was friendly and the service was prompt. Read more
Service is wonderful. Definitely a "Mom & Pop" type of situation. Monte Crystal good, hamburger not so good. Food prices are... hampering them I think. Read more
