Vancouver Local "Eating & Drinking" place, offering Mediterranean/Greek fusion meals. Seem popular with the locals. Purpose:... Lunch meeting Ordered: Bacon Wrapped Souvlaki (for myself) Quality: 3/5 | Pita bread was a bit burned, bacon wrapped around thechicken were under cooked. The chicken was dry. Rice was super moist (not sure if that is supposed to be so wet). Service:4/5 | service was prompt, we were at restaurant just before the lunch rush. However, near the end of our meal, there was asense of push/hint to get us out of there. Which is understandable since it is lunch rush period. Cleanliness: 3/5 | therestaurant has older furnishing, sort of like an old pub/fish & chip/cavern feel to it. The weather was warm, our table waswith an open window facing the sidewalk. Great location. We loved the pizza and truffle fries. My honest opinion calamari felt gooey and oil tasted a little old... I... loved the tzatziki though. Hamburger was delicious. One other downside is the prices of the food. We'll be back here duringhappy hour. Read more
On my every visit to Vancouver going to the Main is a top priority. I totally love this place. Be the food, ambiance, their... cutlery, the cocktails are amazing or a beer if you prefer, whatever the mood. The salad with hugging sauces inviting to tastetheir variety. Everything clean new and sparkly. Situated on the Main street, it serves a variety of fresh Greek preparationsmade the traditional way, also lots of finger food and Americanized deliciousness. I have tried loads of dishes on their menu,my favourite being the "Gyros"- wrap, tzatziki and a selection of vegetables / Feta / olives and veg exotica. Other dishes arealso good. The souvlaki is excellently moist and tender through their marinating process, a perfectly grilled wonder. I alwaysfeel coming back to this place, grabbing an outdoor seating with beautiful view of the city and sumptuous meal. Happened upon this bar purely by chance. The decor is modest but there are multiple TVs airing sports if that's your jam. Our... server had a helpful, friendly vibe with knowledge of the drink menu. We sampled a few drinks off the interesting cocktailmenu. The espresso martini is fantastic. Rum Pum Punch is very fun one too. We ordered a plate of nachos which unfortunatelyour server forgot about (it was a busy night). It was literally just chips covered in cheese and underripe tomatoes. Don't orderthese if you're looking for a substantial helping of food. If we hadn't already had a large meal at another restaurant, we wouldhave been more upset about this. Service was great other than the fact one of our orders was wrong. Ordered the eggplant dip but got hummus dip instead. I was so... hungry I didn?t care, nor did I tell the waitress and quite frankly the incorrect dish was the best of the 3 we ordered. Theother food; questionable. Never order the nachos here unless all you want is literally cheese and tomatoes for $17 with sometomato butt ends. Very disappointing. The Greek salad we had was not very fresh either and by the softness of the tomatoes init you could tell it was not exactly made very recently. Overall disappointed in the food - but again the service was good.Still tipped the usual 15% even though the kitchen gets a cut. ???? Read more
I would give the Main 5 stars for it?s friendly neighborhood pub vibe, yummy food and drinks but although servers were nice and... friendly they did not check on us and other guests often enough. Read more
My first time at The Main today and I'm already planning to go back again soon. I had the Greek Chicken Tacos with a side of... rice and it was a fantastic meal. Our server was so wonderful and friendly. The food came out fresh, HOT and full of flavourwhich I love!! I'll be back soon. Read more
