We had the a la carte menu. The servers were very attentive and friendly and explained each dish to us in detail, including... whether they would recommend soy sauce for the rolls or not. Food itself was very good. The atmosphere in the restaurant wasvery nice for a special occasion. I especially recommend the Great BC Roll. Read more

Quite an experience dining here, I heard that Tojo is the one that invented a variety of rolls and I’m surprised that the... original of rolls like California and whatever else is so different from what we normally see on a daily basis. The food herewas very fresh and I absolutely loved it, not heavy at all or overdone on the amount of rice. I’m usually not a fan of sake, but the premium Japanese owns that they have here are absolutely delicious and I would definitely recommend. The dessert was amatcha green brûlée with fruit that that was absolutely amazing. Not too sweet, but still great. Read more

What a memorable experience having the Sushi Bar Omakase at Tojo’s! Delicious and creative cuisine arrived at our table plate... after plate. Seven wonderful courses. While expensive, it’s best to immerse yourself in the flavours and enjoy. Be happy withthe pricing when you make the commitment to reserve, and then forget about it. We found the portions a good size, but the beautyis in the delicate flavours. Don’t expect to be stuffed and don’t arrive having not eaten all day or you won’t be able toenjoy the cuisine. Be prepared to spend $900+ for two including dinner, two drinks, and tip. Read more

As a sushi lover, I like to try the best sushi's places all over the world and I've been told this place was the best in... Vancouver. The sushi were great, I mean the fish was good. But nothing outstanding, it's a great sushi but given that the sushimenu starts at $330, it just doesn't make any sense and it isn't worth it. There about 6-7 plates, only one of them is aselection of sushi's (photo attached). We didn't even know it was finished when the chef asked us if we were still hungry, wethought it was a joke and we said well, it depends what comes next. He brought us two more plates which was surprisingly notincluded in the menu. No one has told us and this costed us something like 100$ extra. The place isn't anything fancy, I wasexpecting something much more intimate. At the bar, you can see them preparing the sushi because of the layout of the table. Idon't recommend it. Read more

We went for the Sushi Bar Omakase Lunch. There were two groups of two. We made a reservation on OpenTable but we got COVID. ... They were understanding with rescheduling. We enjoyed the meal. The chef explained everything and had a goood sense of humor. Read more

I don’t know how to begin expressing my disappointment at our omakase experience, i’ve been hearing such great things about... this place for years and we were so looking forward to it. as mentioned by previous reviewers, many of the dishes wereoversauced and didn’t attempt to highlight the quality of the ingredients at all - which is probably for the best, as the fishdidn’t taste very fresh nor was it unique - just the usual salmon, tuna, hamachi etc. at this price point, i also expected agreater attention to detail - the spot prawn still had some shell attached, and the greens were browning on the edges. there wasno balance to any of the dishes. I try not to leave poor reviews but for $800 incl. tax, tip & 2 cocktails, I feel compelled todeter others from making the same mistake. Read more

Enjoyed the Spring Sakura Omakase to celebrate my birthday. First time dining at Tojo’s for all four of us. It was definitely... a peak dining experience and worth the expense. Every dish was beautifully presented and the fish was out of this world fresh. It was everything I had hoped for. Outstanding! Read more
