Went for the first time yesterday as we were driving through town. Burger was sooooooo raw and bun was soaked in blood.... Couldn't even eat it and no we weren't asked how we wanted it cooked so we assumed DONE. Turkey sandwich was so dry and yourcoleslaw needs some help. Sadly don't plan on visiting one again soon. We were so disappointed to find that our go-to McMenamins of 7 years had gone downhill. We moved away about a year ago, but... returned often to Vancouver. We last ate there in early September and it was it's usual 5 star self. However, when we went therethis week, there was an awful smell when we came into the restaurant. We thought that maybe it was a cleaning solution. However,the smell persisted. Our food was poorly cooked - dry hamburger that was oversauced, dry bread and dry turkey. The cider and theHammerhead tasted a little off. Later that afternoon, we both suffered stomach upsets. Hopefully, the managers will read thisand correct the situation. Got on the list at 845pm and told it would would be about 10 minute wait. Table was "ready" at about 905pm. It was not very... busy. The table we were brought to was sticky and the chairs had food stuck on them (onions I think). Ordered a strawberry saladand a cheeseburger with no onions and my companion ordered the salmon. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food. I had to askseveral times about it and each time told that it was just about to come out. But then more waiting. When the good finally came,my greens/strawberry salad was warm. My cheeseburger had onions. It was not hot and in fact had so much mayonnaise that it madethe bread soggy. The patty was rubbery. I also happened to see a woman sat at table next to ours about 30 minutes after we wwresat and within 10 minutes she had her food. The reason we were given for the delay was that the salmon took longer to cook thanexpected. However it was not grilled properly with about a 1/4 of it still raw. The server did not chekc on us yo see how themeal was and when she finally did and asked how it was i said " it's not great" expecting to be asked what was wrong but insteadshe just walked away. Felt covid safe. Masks and clean environment. Friendly cute staff. Great food and good beer.. Welp. I went in with low... expectations hearing it was a chain restaurant pub but I was surprised the food was grade A, I loved it. I started with apineapple express ipa seemed safe for me 5/5 and black garlic aoli fries5/5. Needed another aoil because it was so well done.Also ordered a cup of the days soup mushroom barely and let me tell you above and beyond I want a tub of it to bathe in. Excellent service and delicious food! We were greeted immediately as we entered by Megan; who was also our server today.... McMenamins was hopping and Megan was essentially doing it all without missing a beat! We were celebrating my Mother-in-law?sBirthday and this was the first time that she had dined at any McMenamins and she left impressed! My husband had the dungeonburger and said that it was delicious, my mother-in-law had the fish and chips and she enjoyed them. I ordered the vegan Gyroand it was amazing, there was a ton of flavor packed into the sandwich! I recommend the Cajun Tots and the Sweet Potato Friestoo! Read more
