Enjoyed a family birthday meal here for my daughter's birthday. A little recognition would have been nice as I put it on the... reservation but not a star looser. Every plate was delightful. We came here after a business conference and it was after 8pm so not super busy. I decided on the special salmon they had on... offer tonight. Avocado and tomato salsa with jasmine rice and shaved brussel sprouts. My food looked great but lacked flavor.Rice was terrible! Brussel sprouts were thinly cut but undercooked. The onions were thickly cut so basically raw. The salmon wasa touch overcooked and it could have used a sauce. It tasted pretty good but just a bit dry. If one item on my plate wasn't welldone, I could have overlooked it. However, when all three items were meh or terrible, it was disappointing for a $30 meal. Ourwaiter was very nice but didn't check on us very often. He came by when we barely had time to try a bite so by the time I wasnot happy with my food, it was too late. I was too hungry to care at that point. The manger did come by and ask how our food wasand my coworkers food was great but I couldn't say the same. I said it was just ok. He saw what I ordered and said he had it 3xalready. That surprised me because I would not order it again. At least he offered to buy us dessert which I enjoyed my drunkendonuts even if I couldn't finish them. They were also super sweet and I could have done without the powdered sugar. Foods are not good comparing to their price. We tried Bulgogi Beef Bowl and Lemon Caper Halibut. Beefs were not tender, not well... cooked and difficult to chew. Fish was also dry and not tasty. Relaxing atmosphere, and wonderful outdoor seating. For an appetizer we got the fries with fondue, and it was super good. The... main course, I got the lemon caper halibut (pictured) and my husband got the shrimp tacos. They were pretty good, but we bothagreed a little more flavor would have made them a better. Definitely worth a trip. I had Crab Mac & Cheese the wife had a pizza. Both were fantastic. The environment is the real treat... here. Loved the waterfront view and the newer Vancouver riverwalk area. Start with lunch or dinner here and then walk down tothe Milkshake bar. A great place for lunch dates! We were a large party with reservations for lunch. We were promptly sat and our servers were quick to get us drinks and take our... orders. Everyone was pleased with the food choices. They have very reasonable prices and portions are generous. I selectedthe lighter side and I had the Fig & Prosciutto Flatbread and the soup of the day, which was Guzpatcho. Normally I have a good experience here, but this last visit was really rough. Our blonde haired waitress didn't seem to care... about us at all. She visited us as little as possible and left all of our empty drinks, our appetizer plate and everything elseon the table the whole time. And to top it all off, we told here that there was an allergy to chives and she said they would betaken out. They weren't. We also asked what came in the dish and she said 2 things. It came with another thing thay was anallergy. The manager came over and said she was sorry but were we sure that we mentioned there was an allergy. Of course! We sayit every single time, it's an allergy, we don't have want that reaction ever. This girl was just a ditz and the manager stillcharged us for everything but that one dish. Vibe of the place was chic and bustling. Great location in Vancouver. Drinks were made well and servers were friendly and... attentive. However it was weird that our appetizers and meal arrived at the same time. Expected appetizers to arrivefirst. Sadly, food was extremely disappointing. Salmon over cooked by a mile...sqeaky and dry. Seasonal vegetables were onlysquash and zucchini. Rice was plain and flavorless. The lone bright spot was the pants crusted calamari. Hard not to find agreasy pile of squid and this raised the bar. Even the bed of lettuce and onions complimented well. Go for the drinks (goodselection) and apps but pass on fish. Read more
