Went for my grand daughter's birthday. Spent over$80 on the buffet. The food was not that good, all of the deserts were burned... and the ice cream machine was broke. But to top it off, 3 of us were sick after 30 minutes of leaving! Read more
Words can not give this restaurant the credit it deserves ! I have posted a pic of a Empty Plate and that should speak words of... its own ! Every last Bite was Delicious ! The waitress was TOP Shelf and never let my drink go dry ! And absolutely wonderful! I as a trucker get to travel all over the USA coast to coast. I eat everywhere literally ! And let me tell you, ThisPonderosa stands out far above the crowd of chain restaurants. This is a small restaurant, not big and fancy. In a small townabout a hour east of St Louis. Down home country folk. BUT, the Steaks will leave a mark in your mind you will NOT soonforget ! Tender, well seasoned, Char grilled, mouth watering, and literally melt in your mouth like Candy. Again, wordscan't describe what you'll find ! One of the Best Steaks in America ! My only wish is that the steaks were bigger ! I veryHighly recommend Ponderosa in Vandalia, IL ! Absolutely fabulous the best meal I had since covid the best buffet since covid!! Don't let the size fool you, the quality of... the food is to die for delicious!! I didn't even need steak sauce!! The barbecue chicken was 100% amazing! Our server andKirsten was truly a top notch server, and the rest of the staff was very polite! Normally I would take off for it being alittle pricey and the restroom needed a touch up but it was okay and like I said I would normally take off for this but that'show great the food was and the service is !! I LOVE this place. The buffet is always great and the Prime Rib I had on Father's day was fantastic! I really appreciate the... truck parking too. It gives us truckers a great meal and a place to sleep away from the same Ole truck stops! Thank Youagain. P.S., I read the post about the owner giving $100 from his pocket to the gentleman heading down to help with the Tornadorecovery. What a great guy!! I will keep stopping here everytime I pass by on my route. Read more
Food was good, staff was friendly. Didn?t get the buffet but it looked okay, decent selection.
The food wasn't horrible but not spectacular either. For what it cost I would have been happier if it were a bit better. There... also wasn't a wide variety of things on the food bar.
