We stopped to get gas and asked a local if there was a mom and pop type Cafe in the area that didn't serve alcohol. They... immediately suggested Doug and Shelly's Mill Street Cafe. We went there and found the place to be unique and charming. Thestaff was very friendly and the food was great. My coworker got a piece of carrot cake and it was delicious "to go" fordessert. We would recommend it to anyone that finds themselves driving on I-75 near Gaylord, MI. Just a mile off exit290/Vanderbilt. BTW, everything in their gift shop area is locally made...not from China. Stumbled upon gem. This place was so fun. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was eclectic in a good way.... The food and service was very attentive and everything tasted so awesome. First time here and no complaints! Wrapped up our camping trip with breakfast here and it did not disappoint! Loggers omelette... and mountain man skillet were delicious! Will be back for sure! Would like to try the pizza sometime too! Read more

The place serves both as a breakfast diner and a dinner restaurant that serves as a pizzeria. And let me tell you, the food may... be great but it honestly is the service that kept bringing me back to this place. The owners, though as busy as they are, arepeople that take the time to interact and talk with their customers. They even took the time to remember my name after havingnot been back in a few years due to being out of the area. They are professional but fun hosts that really create a greatatmosphere. I especially love the breakfast selection that they serve. Haven't been back yet this year but it is on my list of"definitely got to go back to." Read more
Amazing pizza!! We went there for an early dinner, the place is very unique with great decoration, the staff is super friendly.... We were a group of four, we all order pizza and it didn?t take long.
