This was my first visit and I enjoyed the Jamaican food that I ordered at this restaurant. The menu is varied and has something... for everyone from entrees to desserts and beverages. Most meal choices are small, medium and large (they display container sizesnear the order counter). Portion sizes and prices are reasonable. There are a couple of refrigerated cases displaying an arrayof soft drinks, including store made Caribbean beverages. The order counter has a hot case on top that displays patties and adisplay case underneath with pre-packaged dessert cake slices. Cash or credit cards are accepted forms of payment. Therestaurant is clean and tidy and the counter staff is cordial and efficient. The entrance has large steps, so it is not handicapaccessible and there is on-street parking. Read more
This was by far one of the most disappointing experiences with oxtails ever. The other day I ordered Cool Runnings Cuisine for... dinner. I ordered their Large Oxtail Dinner w/ Collard Greens, Cabbage, & Plantain. With Mac n Cheese as the side, and PeanutPunch to wash it down. First off you can count how many pieces of oxtail is in the platter. Maybe 5-6. For a large dinnerplatter one would at the very least expect more oxtails than that. The oxtails were on the dry side and had no flavor at all.The gravy it was in also had no flavor. They were also very stiff. The collard greens were impossibly bland and extremelygrainy. The cabbage was pretty good, no complaints. Loved the different blend of veggies in the cabbage. The only real savinggrace for this order was the Mac n Cheese. Not that it was the best, would say about 5/10, but it at least had flavor! You cantaste the cheeses and it had a nice texture to it. If not for the Mac, my score would be a lot lower. And for the grand total of$39 for my entire meal, it was not worth it in any way, shape, or form. Maybe their other dishes are good, but I for sure willnot be trying them.
