Good food, great service. The sauces were average at best. The potato salad was good, the Mac and cheese was super cheesy and... delicious. The brisket was a little dry. The cornbread was TO DIE FOR. Overall can?t complain. Good for Memphis bbq not inMemphis. Read more
Mediocre BBQ at best. Worst brisket ever had at a BBQ restaurant. It was dry and so so though. No way it was cooked for 14... hours. I've made a 14 hour brisket and it should be super tender not shoe leather. The ribs had a good smoke favour but rubsauce did not wow. Sides: Pork and beans was excellent, corn good, mac and cheese good, Coleslaw lackluster. The cornbread wasaweful. The big thing that showed me the lack of quality was the banana pudding. It wasn't Banana or pudding. Tasted and hadtexture of a cheap cream that sat in the fridge for days, no bananas or Banana flavour. I?ve heard baby blues has the best wings in Venice and they are certainly delicious. Best to get many different flavors as they... all hit the same notes but strike different chords. Sweet spicy and hot are musts, with BBQ and XXX as strong role players,maybe even starters. Cornbread serves as a great chaser to your bites, and the mac and cheese is classic from your local BBQjoint. Read more
Wow. Just wow this place is amazing. I?ll start with the pulled pork. It literally melts in your mouth, it?s so soft and tender... I don?t think you need teeth. The corn bread was something special as well nice and crunchy on the outside but remained moistand crumbly in the middle. The baked beans were rich and full of flavor as was the max and cheese. One more thing to mention isthe customer service was fantastic. We were greeted and helped within seconds of walking through the door. This is an American bbq place which was featured on TV. We ordered smoked wings. Bbq platter which included Babyback ribs = good... and tender not much rub/flavor Pulled BBQ pork = very tender it was ok Mashed sweet potato = it was mediocre Smoked chickenrice. Had no chicken pieces was ok moist but bland And corn bread was ok. I liked the pieces of corn in it. They have about 4different sauces Regular BBQ. = bland Sweet BBQ = taste like tomato paste Hot sauce = tasty And my favorite was XXX it had themost flavor so I stuck with it. Read more
The atmosphere was super awesome. I was also able to meet the owner which he was super cool. The food was amazing and sides were... great. Visiting from North Carolina made me feel right at home. That beef rib was fantastic. Definitely a place I will visitagain when I travel back to Los Angeles California. Staff was great. Keep up the outstanding service. Read more
