Fantastic, authentic Italian food in a laidback but stylish setting. I wore a red hot chilli peppers t shirt and felt right at... home, but would have also felt at home in a button up shirt. Food was fantastic, the seafood linguine was the best I?ve had, andthe burrata was melt in the mouth delicious. The menu offers great choices and delivers on expectations.Great wine selection. Sampling the appetizers and smaller plates (non-entrees) allowed our party of 3 to enjoy a wide variety of wonderful menu... choices. Un/fortunately we didn?t bring a big appetites. We were able to sample 2 desserts. LOL! Sitting outdoors on the maindrag (Abbot Kinney ) was not as noisy/dirty since we ate there during early dinner hour on a Sunday. Plating/presentation =5, food = 5, Ambience = 4, service = 5 The crowd looked like friends connecting over a simple meal, romantic and/or long timecouples and small families (1 child) or extended families. What a great little spot! Went here for a celebratory luncheon and was not disappointed. Ordered 3 dishes and a bottle of... Prosecco. Food and beverage was delightful. There wasn?t a single dish that I didn?t like. The hostess was awesome, she paidmore attention to me than the server. Super friendly, helpful and funny. Dishes are affordable and large. The best dinner of our 10-day California road trip was at Piccolo. The food was outstanding (you can tell there?s a native... Italian soul playing a key role in the quality of the food/pasta ? I lived in Italy myself several years and can tell thedifference), the place was beautiful and the service was a 10/10. Paulino and his colleagues that served our table that nightare genuinely kind people, and they gave great recommendations on wine and food. Like many of her Venice sisters, Piccolo serves up a the vibe in plentiful. I?d recommend sitting indoors if possible, the... outdoor seating on the street isn?t much more than an almost-patio with heat lamps. Try one of the burratas to start, which wasa crowd favorite. The stuffed pasta with sage was a personal standout, with the squid ink pasta leaving a bit to be desired. Butalas, it?s fresh pasta at the end of the day. It?s all delicious. Read more
Such an amazing experience. We went there for brunch but end up just having their regular food. I was impressed with their... dishes and with the great service. From the host, to the server and the chef. Everyone was amazing.. we tried to add truffle toa dish and the chef said that the taste of the sauce would over shadow the truffle and he was right.. they could?ve oversold andmade more money but the chef was genuine and let us know ahead.
