It's a unique and friendly ambiance place. Their strawberry banana malt milkshake tastes like the Philippines ice scramble and... it brought me back to my childhood happy place. Their Italian sub tastes good. I highly recommend it. Read more

In my humble opinion, if you go to Venice and don?t go to The Soda Fountain, you wasted a trip. This local classic soda shop and... pizzeria is a gem. The food is amazing. I?m partial to the Italian sub. It?s my go to when I come here. Their fries look simplebut are absolutely fantastic. They have a crispness/crunchiness when you bite into them and the center is perfectly cooked andsoft. Their pizza is some of the best in the area. You can load it with toppings or go the simple route with just cheese. Eitherway, you will not be disappointed. Parking can be a bit of a hassle in season because it?s on the busy main drag of Venice. Ifyou?re staying in the area, take out could be a good option for you. If you want to wait and sit at the restaurant, it?s worthit. Plus, you can stick around for dessert. Read more

Had lunch here today. Great service and good food. But wait, the milkshake... FABULOUS! I LOVED IT. I hadn't had a milkshake... that good in years. It's definitely worth the trip. I had a grilled cheese with tomato and homemade potato chips. I reallydidn't want the chips but they did not have the baked beans that was on the menu. That was disappointing. The sandwich waspretty good - nice portion of cheese and tomato but the chips weren't that good. They were overcooked and too hard.. I wouldhave preferred a bag of chips. But 4 out of 5 stars isn't bad. Oh, and there's outside seating. On a day like today, that'salways a plus! Read more

It's hard to rate a soda fountain-style restaurant on its own merits because they're just so very rare, but short of supply... issues, this one performed like a well-oiled machine. Service was prompt, relaxed, and friendly. Food quality was quite highfor what it offered, though the fare is relatively simple. The ambiance is a delightful throwback to a time when such placesdrew people of the community together, but the advent of the soda machine pretty well destroyed it. The garlic knots are agreat appetizer if you enjoy garlic, but if you're not a fan, then stay away. They're heavily topped with it and the bottom ofthe bowl is filled with their garlic sauce. Personally? I liked it, but brushed as soon as I got home. My wife and I had theirbelly-busting Pink Cadillac hot dogs. I'm not sure why, but we hadn't eaten a good hot dog in a long while. A foot long beeffrank, perfectly grilled and covered in your choice of three toppings, neither of us could finish it. It comes with your choiceof sides. There are many fine restaurants in Venice's historic district. Come to this one if you're looking for somethingunique to drink or a taste of the past. Read more
