Tried this place as it was recommended by someone ... however I am not impressed. My husband got 2 rolls for the $12 lunch... special and they were almost the exact same as mine. Looking at our food side by side I am extremely underwhelmed with my food.I wouldn't come back as they were all pretty basic rolls, at specialty roll prices. Update: We went a second time and it was just as excellent as the first time. The waitress even remembered us! I love the tuna... poke bowl so much that I had to get it again. Great little place! What the heck, previous reviewers? You could have saved us $115. Told us they were packing our food up after waiting 20 minutes... past when they told us it would be ready. Ten minutes later, they acknowledged that wasn?t true. When we finally got it, wish wehad left without it. Midwest, East Coast, but The Star Thai & Sushi in Venice rates in the top 5. Professional and artistic chefs, greatpresentation and great service. The Poseidon roll is top shelf, I would highly recommend it for people that want to trysomething different. Nestled is the Bird Bay Plaza off of 41 Bypass in Venice, you will find this small restaurant with a warm atmosphere and... authentic good Thai food. The staff is friendly with a prompt service. I visited the place during lunch time and the place wasfull. The Sweet and Sour dish with Tofu and rice was tasteful along with the rice soup. The soup was served at the righttemperature with salad and egg roll that complimented the plate. I will come back to try other delicacies on the menu speciallythe sushi. Read more
