Quick turnaround for a personal phone order pickup. The food was exceptional in my opinion. This was my first time visiting this... restaurant since my regular Chinese food place was closed on a Monday. I may never go back because the food here is that muchmore delicious. Edit update 2 years later: Same good food. The atmosphere inside is lacking if you do decide to dine in. Theservice is robotic. My opinion is to pick up your orders to-go. Read more

China Kitchen is excellent. I went for the first time for a late lunch with a coworker and was a little worried when we saw the... place was empty. We have it a shot anyway and were extremely pleased with our meals. I don't know if everybody only shows upat noon or if word just hasn't gotten out how good the food here is, but the relatively inexpensive lunch specials we had weresome of the best Chinese food I've had in Ventura county. I had the sesame chicken with fried rice and a hot & sour soup. Igrew a Chinese restaurant on the quality of their hot & sour soup decays it's not an easy thing to make with a good balance offlavors. Theirs is great. Not too sour, not too sweet, and not oily like many I've had elsewhere. The sesame chicken waslightly breaded with a sweet, but not too sweet, sauce, and the chicken itself was super tender and clearly of high quality. The fried rice was just right, as well. I highly recommend giving China Kitchen a shot. Their prices and food quality areunbeatable, and the server was very friendly. I promise you will not be disappointed. Read more

Do not eat here, you been warned. Dirty dishes, just one terrible waitress, grease food, not cheap either, if you go, just take... a look at the tea pot on the outside. I should have left when I saw that. She never came to see if we needed anything else, theonly time she came 3 time on the row is to see if were ready to pay. Read more

The best there is in Ventura! This is a well-known hidden gem here. I asked a Walmart checkout clerk for the best Chinese in the... area, and without missing a beat, she said, "China Kitchen!" I ran over there, and I cannot stop going there since. I love theorange chicken. But I also love the beef with broccoli, string beans with pork, juicy pork dumplings, sizzling rice soup, tripledelight over the cripy noodles, and the house special chow fun (thick rice noodles). I recommend them all. The prices arereasonable. The service from Vivian is as good as any service can get. Read more
