Driving through Vernon, my wife and I wanted a nutritious lunch to tide us over for the rest of our trip. My wife needed GF and... vegan. A quick search brought me to Midtown Bistro, and we are so glad it did. The food and service here was wonderful. My wifedescribed her Stir Fry as among the best she's ever eaten. I was very pleased with my chicken club wrap with mashed potatoes.Our server - who I understood to be the co-owner - was so friendly and accommodating. After being greeted by the most delightful staff, we were quickly seated and told the specials. My selection was the pulled pork... sliders with a Thai salad. The pulled pork sliders were packed full of tasty flavour with melt in your mouth meat. The salad wasso fresh! Wonderful! FOOD was absolutely amazing and loved it however I work in the restaurant industry and it was a bit chaotic. The servers were... trying their best but seemed a bit overwhelmed. They gentlemen who was there was very ignorant and rude. It took us half an hourto eat after recieving our food (we have children ,so it's not a quick eat and leave. ) He asked our table to hurry up and leavebecause other customers needed our table. I have never had that in the hospitality industry and am appalled by this service,then they tried to overcharge for drinks which we had to go over with them, charged us for an extra wrap that we didnt order sohad to correct that and then the bacon jam was never put on the sliders so had to ask about that ,and was made to feel like itwas an inconvenience to even ask. Once again the food was amazing but I find the staff to be lacking and need better customerservice . Read more
This place is slept on. I mean not really because it has such high ratings and so many reviews. But it's a restaurant I found... valuable. I definitely feel like they deserve a 5/5. Their service is friendly and prompt. They offer takeout and dine inservices. I found it very convenient to order by text. You can pay by e transfer, credit, debit or cash. Their food is amazingin that it's well made and carefully created. They don't overload..their small menu reflects their commitment to serving qualitydishes. Parking is street parking (paid) Caper chicken is fantastic. The vegetables were well seared, buttered and salted.Chicken breast was juicy. Mash potatoes mild and not over salted. The sauce had little tomatoes and capers in it. The picture Itook doesn't show the tomatoes because they were still in the sauce cup. Hot beef sandwich was good. I liked the caramelizedonions! The beef was a bit too salty for my taste. Pear and goat cheese salad was yummy. I liked the sauce and slices offig. Everything came together well. Had the most amazing meal at Midtown Bistro. Butter chicken was a 10!!! The best part is I could go eat there and not be... discriminated against for my medical choices. I highly recommend for everyone in the Okanagan. Thanks Midtown for your exampleof inclusion and incredible food. Read more
Great atmosphere, service, and concept - it is great to support local vendors, especially when you can serve such delicious food... from them! We had a very generous portion on our charcuterie board, with a killer artichoke dip. Make a reservation to ensureyou get a table - it is popular. Read more
