Growing up behind the counter of my Uncle?s deli in Brookline, MA and now living on the North shore without any really great... delis around, I get the occasional itch for some good deli comfort food. Rein?s New York Style Deli in Vernon, CT (exit 65 off84W) has just what the doctor ordered! If you?re craving is corned beef or pastrami, knishes or kasha, maybe some stuffedcabbage? They have all the delicious recipes, brines and flavors of your youth that will remind you of your bubbie?s kitchen???? And when you leave you can take home all your favorites for those that couldn?t make the ride! Our favorite stop on theway to CT and NYC. Did I mention all the pickles you can eat on the table? My husband's family has been coming here for years and I was finally able to see it for myself! We were driving through and... stopped for lunch! The Matzo ball soup, Reuben's, and knish were incredible! I also ordered takeout from the counter so we couldbring home some bagels, rugelachs, and cookies! Read more

Update as of today. Food was okay, eggs not great but edible. Service not as well as when first came. Waitress did not ask if... everything was okay or if we needed any more coffee or nothing else. Noticed other waitress asked table next to ours how theirmeal was and if anything more they needed. Sharp contrast from my first visit. Place was not even that crowded so servicecould have been better. Meal pricy also. Received better services elsewhere, not sure when or if coming back, but maybe it wasjust an off day for staff. _________ Today for the first time I went to this deli ???? and we had the best breakfast in a longtime from a restaurant. The cheese ???? on our scrambled eggs ???? was a good portion and the entire meal was cooked toperfection. The coffee ? wasn't the best, but everything else far exceeded my expectations. Portions were large enough forleftovers ???? tomorrow. Yeah. Absolutely delicious and our waitress was nice and very friendly ????. It was great. Thanks Rein's for a wonderful experience. March 2022:Large variety of sandwiches. Borcht was a bit disappointing. Served with no sour cream, and a cold borcht is best... with scallions and other fresh veggies like cucumbers which were not included. Reins was very crowded, no social distancing, made me feel somewhat uncomfortable. They do have picnic tables outside on the left, although they are a bit cold to use rightnow. Read more

Since we left FL and moved West of the CT River into Western MA, we?re always looking for a REAL Jewish Deli. The others, near... us and around Northampton, seem to be lacking. NOT Rein?s. They?re right out of NYC and the REAL THING!!! I can?t wait to sinkmy teeth into the Pastrami Sandwich I ordered. Just eating the 1/2 sour pickles they brought to the table, we know it?s gonna beGREAT!!!! They?re also VERY Patriotic and encourage Civility - while protecting their employees while they educate the publicback to CIVILITY Read more
