The Captain Ds in GARDENDALE, AL is AWESOME and AMAZING!! The staff and manager are very friendly which is reflective of the... wonderful manager and management team!!! Very clean and impressive!! It just makes me HAPPY when i go to this location!!AWESOMENESS!!?? VESTAVIA is totally opposite, smh????. The atmosphere (the actual cafeteria is nice and clean) , but the staffis all about trying to move you through the Drive thru quickly (the time clock) and shoving all of the cars to the other sideof the bldg so they wont get penalized, smh. Its like going to a COST effective food warehouse. They (the staff) want to beright over the customer being satisfied. Its NOT the same atmosphere as it was in the past, smh. My car broke down there. While waiting for help to arrive I ordered a bowl of gumbo and a sweet tea. The food was great! Those... ladies kept an eye on me and made sure I was ok the whole time. Thank you! In today's world, you just don't know! I'm glad tohave someone watching it for me. Read more
Service was friendly. It had been since before the pandemic that I actually had eaten here. Hush puppies were good, but the fish... was thinner than I remember. Use to be nearly twice the size. There was no condiment pumps that use to be there, and I had toopen 12 small packs of ketchup to eat with when the pump dispenser or a bottle would have been a lot quicker and convenient. Read more
The food here was either great here when I was a kid or I just had bad taste buds. It has been 3 years since I?ve last entered... Captain D?s, and traveling to Alabama for the first time in a while gave me the opportunity to come back here. When I enteredwith my family, we placed our orders, though everything was like above 1,200 calories. Never noticed it, but seeing thosenumbers was just insane to me. It?s not really relevant, though I wonder really how they?re serving their foods baked in 10layers of oil. The employee taking our order looked unhappy and unsettled. I ordered the Lobster Rolls, which, to be fair, werequite decent if I?m trying to be nice, with having mac & cheese, the mac & cheese was good but not as good as it used to be. Ifelt as if the food lost quality over the pandemic, resulting in the poor state it is now. The tables looked a bit messy, andthe bathrooms were clean for the most part. I don?t know where to start. I placed my order online and paid for it. First off, the cashier was standing there eating fish... crumbs out of a pan when we came in. There is a place for special instructions which clearly is not necessary seeing as they aretotally disregarded When I asked for the condiments, they didn?t have anything we needed. What they did bring was clearly thelast of what they had. It was covered in old tartar and some were busted. I had a total of twelve pieces of fish and there wasthree packs of vinegar. I would?ve made a complaint to the manager but she was quite ok with the young man eating as well aspassing out those disgusting packs of tartar. The food is very reasonably priced; they give Senior Discounts,... have delicious combos for $4.99 and as a VIP member, you can earn Reward Points with each visit. When the points add up, youreceive a free dessert or other perk for being a VIP member. I just got home from another awesome visit to Captain D?s! Rodrickwaited on me in the drive-through and he was so pleasant, knowledgeable, and accommodating that I told him he needed a raise. Heexplained to me that the VIP membership now was by email rewards. I told him I had received an email reward and was there to getmy dessert with my meal. He offered me a drink while I waited. Don?t ever come here. Take my word for if. They took my money and ask me to drive around the building. When I did, there were 5... other cars! I waited there for 23 minutes. If I wouldn?t have already paid I would have left. Totally inexcusable and pathetic. Read more
