I was recommended by a friend to check it out. I was very excited to get ice cream on a hot day! At first glance it appeared... there were many good looking flavors to try. Upon further inspection there were only two available scoops which were non-dairyice "cream"... I figured I'd try a sandwich instead, but they were sold out of all but 1 sandwich type (chocolate) which I'm notinterested in. I'm sure the ice cream is great, if I able to get some. Read more
This is a nice little shop just outside the city centre for some cold treats! The shop itself is only tiny but the space where... you can park, sit, wait in line and enjoy your food is unique and spacious. Nice to see some delicious ice cream options andsome interesting others as well. Read more
Cold Comfort Ice Cream was highly recommended to us, since my husband is an ice cream fanatic and I'm dairy-free. We walked... over on a very warm day and found this place tucked around the backside of a building in a parking lot. You'd have to know itwas back there, but it made it feel like a more local, less touristy place. With a 4.7 rating, lots of locals do know aboutit. Love their motto: Doing whatever the hell we feel like since 2010. Friendly customer service and they answered questions.I was thrilled to be able to order a small cup (one scoop) of very creamy vegan mint chocolate chip $4 and my husband orderedThe Plain Jane ice cream sandwich $8, which was vanilla ice cream in a chocolate cookie sandwich. Very good and I'm so glad wetried this local favorite. Very good prices. They were out of some items, so I'd go early if you have a favorite. Pints alsoavailable. I checked their website before visiting, and I was excited since there were soo many flavors! But there were only ice cream... sandwiches and no ice cream scoops/bars, with limited flavors. I guess I was also expecting a storefront and not a little standin the back of a parking lot. I found the choc o'clock to be very rich (with the chocolate cookie much sweeter than thechocolate ice cream). Read more

Love the vast range of unique flavours they offer, but gourmet does come at a price! They offer many dairy and gluten-free... options, which is great to see at a local vendor. Google Maps location is off (apparently their current place is now their newlocation), so we both drove and walked past it a couple times in the dark. Service was great; they knew all of the availableoptions for all the flavours we inquired about off the top of their head. A group of us shared several items, ranging from halfpints of ice cream and sorbet, to a few different sandwiches. Flavours are very distinct, and we all enjoyed most of them(especially the Hoyne Dark Matter), but the cookie for the chocolate carmel sandwich was shockingly salty. Read more
