Been wanting to try this place for a few weeks now. Arrived at 6:30pm, they were closing at 7pm.\n\nWhat\'s great with the poke... dishes is that there\'s a high possibility that they\'ll take orders until pretty late. It was nice to see them take ordersuntil 7 minutes to close, but I\'m sure it\'s best not to wait til last minute before they close.\n\nThere\'s seating inside andoutside, the establishment looked clean.\n\nI was overwhelmed by the variety of items that you could mix and match, but if youare not sure, they have plenty of pre-chosen combinations for you. I got the classic Ono Poke, and the husband got a salmon poke(not sure which one). The toppings are optional, but you can pick and choose, or ask for all.\n\nIt was delicious, lots offlavour, and just the right portion for me. With the make-your-own combos, you could choose the sizes between small, medium orlarge. I would have wanted it a bit more spicy, but I did just choose the ponzu sauce for my poke.\n\nI love tuna, so this wassomething that\'s worth a visit. They have a variety of drinks available at a cooler inside the store.\n\nWith raw I\'m sureit\'s a bit tricky to ensure quality, but my stomach felt just fine after having a meal from Ono Poke. The price was decent forme, I would definitely come for more, trying other flavours.\n\nThere is a lot of variety to choose from for your protein, somaybe expect to take some time choosing- or just pick from the menu instead to try! Excellent poke! On the days you don\'t feel like tuna, the shrimp is fantastic. We go here quite often and really enjoy it each... time we go. If you are in Uptown, don\'t miss this spot! Clean and healthy. Read more
In my opinion the best tasting poke I\'ve had here in Victoria. I LOVE poke and I don\'t feel bad eating it often as long as I... don\'t drown my poke in sauce. I love the flavours and how tasty the poke is here. Finally a poke place my partner doesn\'t mindgoing to often with me since I have a poke addiction! Great friendly customer service. Short review : easily the best poke place I have ever been to.\n\nLong review :\nPoke is trendy, and sadly sometimes trends... allow bad restaurants to become created. Ono is not one of those places. If every other poke place closed I wouldn\'t beupset.\n\nPros:\nAmbience - this is maybe top 5 of ALL restaurants in Victoria as far as look , feel, and overallambience.\nStaff: As soon as we opened the door we were treated with a happy hello and a glowing smile , we could see under amask!\nFood: I took my grandmother and she is very picky as she has dietary restrictions , and also is picky about food. Theplan was to share a bowl. There were so many choices that we felt torn between what to get but the staff really helped us byasking what we like, flavors and fish wise. Ended up with a mix bowl and were not sad at all\nDrinks/munchies : they have a lotof great options for drinks and other non main meal things to eat. From spam pressed sushi to other side dishes. We had themango juice and white peach drink and both were great.\nPrice: Costs are rising everywhere. So we looked at the value. We splita large bowl and easily felt it was with the cost. Compared to restaurants we would rather go to Ono and there is no pointcomparing to McDonald\'s or fast food as it would be silly.\nSpeed/service : After the staff helped explain all the options itwas maybe 3 mins from order to being completed. You don\'t get that at any other place let alone for amazing food.\n\nOVERALL:5/5 stars is too little. The environment, quality of food, service , and value is unmatched. My granny only wanted a couplebites and ended up finishing 80% of the bowl.... And these aren\'t small servings either.\n\nWould recommend and honestly thereis nothing bad to say about it. Fresh fish, sauces, and great environment with knowledgeable staff.\n\nThe only thing I feel badfor, is the other poke places in town as there is honestly no reason to even try anywhere else. Great service, clean restaurant and delicious food! Probably one of the best poke bowls I’ve had in a long time. I had the ono... ahi tuna and the limo limo salmon medium dish and we also had the spicy salmon snack bowl.
