Shanzee's Biscuit Café was incredible, from their drinks to their breakfast food, to their delicious homemade biscuits, freshly... made every morning. I had a delicious latté with my breakfast and It was poured in a very lovely mug which made me feel like Iwas back home. The setting was extremely cozy and the waiters were very friendly and hospitable. I got the eggs benny and it wassooo good. I had it over their fresh biscuits and I loved it. Definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting/residingin Victoria! Read more

I wanted to be adventurous and so I ordered the 2-2-2 which came with blue grit pancakes - I still am not sure what they were (I... would like to know though), but I did not enjoy them. They had a particular after taste to them. The maple cream cheese sirupbarely tasted of cream cheese. I also ordered some hash browns which were lacking flavour just like the ones served at denny'sor iHOP. I feel like this place doesn't need much of an introduction considering it has a sign at the front that says its on Yelps Top... 100 restaurants list. Either way, here's some info. I've been Pescatarian for a little over a year now, but I'm trying to fullytransition to vegetarian, which can make it hard to dine with the gf at times since we like to share food for variety. Sounfortunately I feel like I might not be doing this restaurant any justice since it has such an interesting and very temptingmenu full of meat options. Anyway...pictured in this review is the vegetarian hash and the pancake special (pretty much bananapancakes with walnuts). Vegetarian Hash - I've never had a hash with spring-mix on top. Usually vegetarian hashes are justpeppers and onions, but this was more like a salad with egg and hashbrowns. Still really good once you chop everything uptogether and dump some hot sauce and ketchup on it. I'd order it again. The Pancakes - They looked dense but they were so fluffyand their syrup was awesome. I could have taken a shot of just the syrup. I'd definitely return. The food and attention was very good. They should check the ventilation system since the fry from the kitchen is in the... restaurant. Our eyes were watering and our throats were constantly burning. Our clothes smelled of frying, it was necessary towash our clothes when we got home since the smell we had was incredible. So good we had to go back twice! From the incredibly friendly service to the unbelievably delicious biscuits, Shanzee?s is a... must visit when in Victoria! We enjoyed both the savoury and sweet biscuits - both are so good! Check out the Maple Biscuit forpeanut butter lovers, the BLAT for the yummy bacon and avocado mix, and the Avocado to get your egg and avocado hit! I had the pleasure of staying three doors up the street from Shanzee's while visiting Victoria this week. My wife and I didn't... consider ourselves "biscuit people" but this amazing place turned around on that but quick.
