In Vidalia for the onion festival recently and got tired of waiting in traffic to see the air show so figured we would go eat... lunch. On a whim we stumbled upon PaPa Bucks BBQ and what a great surprise!! Service was fast, freindly, the food was excellentand portions were impressive. I had the beef brisket and my wife had the loaded potato. Both did not dissopoint! We arelooking forward to going back to Vidalia to visit Papa Bucks BBQ. Read more

Staff was nice, it was clean and food arrived quickly. However the Brisket Plate for 14.00 was two slices of brisket that was... more fat then meat. The fried corn, now I don't know about you, but fried corn should have a crust not just a piece of cornfried it made it chewy and not appetizing at all. The fries were cold too. The chicken was good and a good size portion and thefried okra was good as well. Again staff was friendly and helpful but for 14.00 of your hard earned money you should get actualmeat vs. mostly fat, especially if your only going to get 2 medium size, thin slices. Read more

Great BBQ pulled pork plate. The pork was moist and looked appetizing, and even better on the tongue. Their Signature sauce was... nice and tangy. The Sweet and Smokey was definitely tasty and I tried both equally. Signature won out in the end ????. The sidesI chose were green beans and brunswick stew. The greens were bland, I assume on purpose so we can add salt/pepper to our taste. The brunswick stew is chunkier than I like but still passed the taste test. I would definitely eat here the next time we'rethrough. Oh... and as we were leaving my lovely lady noticed that a band I worked with many years ago (the Fly Me Courageousalbum) had been there recently and posted there own "Signature" review of Papa Buck's on the bulletin board. Check out the picfor Kevin Kinney's comment :) Read more

Driving up to this place, you can tell that it will be a little different. The restaurant is an old gas station. We walked in... and were greeted by 2 friendly girls, who seemed to be having a great time working there. After asking them about different menuitems and discussing options, we decided on 1st, the original scooby snack with brisket, fully loaded, then a plate of brisket, ribs, fried corn & Brunswick stew, plus some sweet tea to wash everything down. While the Mac and cheese is a personal favorite,we were told that some times its out of this world good and sometimes it was ok, it appeared that it wasn't an out of this worldday, so we passed on that, for now. Let's start with the tea, it was tasty and refreshing, nothing out of the ordinary orunexpected, but good. Next was the Brunswick stew, it was good, had great flavor and filling. Moving on to the fried corn, thiswas interesting, something I've never had before, I'd highly recommend trying it. The brisket and ribs came next, both wereincredible tender and juicy, cooked well. I like a little more spice, but the flavor was still good. Next was the star of theshow, what would have been my drunken go-to (if I had been drinking prior to trying it), the Original Scooby snack with brisket- all the way. I really enjoyed it. This is a full order of French fries, covered with cheese, sour cream, brisket, jalapenos, onions, olives & I added aittke sauce to it. This was so good, I will be ordering it each time I go back. This was easily myfavorite thing there. Go here, try the scooby snacks, say hi to Sammy! Read more
