So... This place blew some socks right off. Just amazing choices from beginning to the end. Who'd have thought the balsamic in... the olive oil with the freshly baked rolls would start an avalanche of good flavors. Appetizers set the tone. The watermelon,mussels and stuffed squash blossoms were just fantastic. Be THEN the seafood soup, veal, duck Bolognese followed. We might aswell have had a turntable as we rotated each experience for all to enjoy. Finally, the desserts... Tiramisu cheesecake (OMG),the creamsicle (blood orange and vanilla gelato), fruit & crepes. I didn't know what to expect going in but was totally blownaway by EVERYTHING here. La Soffitta hands down the best restaurant in Vineyard Haven! As far as MV goes it could very well be #1. The food is AMAZING.... One must understand as a person/family who like(s) to dine out, La Soffitta has met and exceeded all expectations,constantly. Pandemic, no problem they have distanced their tables, prepared their servers, tweaked their reservation system,expanded their outdoor and spacious patio dining and added these cutting edge industrial air purifiers for safe and intimateindoor dining. These are just a few of the reasons we continue to frequent and eat and eat and eat at La Soffitta. The serviceis always spot on, polite and communicative. The menu is outstanding, beyond tempting. Many world class eaters come back formore time and time again. From black tie to black high tops we always feel welcome and comfortable and safe when we enjoyromantic or family dining. The food was awful. My friend got the duck carbonara and she literally was able to pick up all of the pasta in the bowl with her... fork because it was so congealed. I ordered the ribeye and it was the thinnest I’ve ever seen and I could tell it waspreviously frozen. We wanted to speak with the chef but he made us wait 20 minutes while he continued his conversation with hisfriends who were dining there (they took their food to go - not a big surprise) .
