We used to enjoy eating broasted chicken from this restaurant. The last year or so the quality has gotten pretty bad, unlike... what they state on their page as using quality ingredients. We purchased a 16 piece meal which is a bit pricey but that?s whatwe need to feed our family. Upon opening our food when we got home the outside breading of the chicken was very dark. The piecesthemselves have shrunk to about half the size they used to be. I always eat dark meat and the legs might have had a bite oneach of them, wings meat non-existent, not to mention ALL the pieces were dry and chewy on the inside. Broasted chicken issupposed to be crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. This is absolutely the WORST broasted chicken I?ve eatenin my life. If there really aren't any customers there, there should be 4 dirty tables. The condiment bottles really should be cleaned... regularly. I asked if they had a sandwich on their menu and I was told yes. Some time later, I was told they didn't. I can seewhy the Vinton location is failing. Read more

Very good bacon cheeseburger and fries. Could really taste the grill on the burger. Great value for the money.
So on my way from Independence to Grinnell I said "NO" to my GPS three times and went a direction that was "similar ETA." Thank... goodness, that took me right by Tootsies! On a cold February day I was surprised to find it open with friendly smilingattendents ready to make my favorite! Raspberry Malt! Absolutely great experience. My first time there, and was happy to not be rushed to order. Man at the window had informed me of... not having enough product, but made up for it with a bit extra strawberries in my shake. I will absolutely go back again. Plusthe additional Tootsie Roll on top of the shake is incredibly cool and unique. Read more
